Perhaps you don't realize, but even in the time of Ellis Island immigration, people were screened and some sent back.  

I have no problem whatsoever with legal immigration.  I do have a substantial problem with the no borders approach suggested by some.  By what rules do we then operate?  If there should be no national hegemony, then what guarantees the rights of the citizens (key word here, citizenship is a privilege, not a right)?

Who wouldn't know Ellis island was a screening center for immigrants???? WhoTF hasn't seen The Godfather. Totally agree with legal immigration. I think Canada/US border is the longest undefended one in the world, or used to be.

All I did was post a link about someone being arrested for possible arson for a fire east of Eugene, why are you adding all this shit that was not mentioned in the link I posted?

lol read what you posed.  Pictures of meat hanging on razor wire from moms and their kids blown up will play well on the news. Or bullet riddled corpses from sniper fire. Why not electric fences too??? As to home owners along the border it isn't their job, not all will do anything and there is too much leeway for abuse. I foresee hunting preserves where members join to hunt the most dangerous game.

 

It has to be a passive but impenetrable barrier. Or none. Pay Mexico to build a wall on their southern border. Throw in some interior road blocks too.This would reduce the number of migrants.
