fuck Trump, Hillary, fuck 'em all back to Reagan - i'd take Farage over all those bastards if it were possible. one of the main reasons I like the man is that he continues to be stunned by the depth of corruption in all things political and is unable to hide his disgust about it.

Copying and pasting the url from a yahoo article never works. It brings up a yahoo page with random popup article cycling through that have nothing to do with the intended article. Unless by Economics you meant kids in Texas are getting death threats for sitting during the national anthem.

The video was much better at giving us a more compressed version from one of the authors, but here is the full report I was linking.

Never could understand why people wont stand when their national anthem is played.

Commie pricks!

Hell, when RW and mrs RW visited the States years ago and we were in Vegas they played the Star Spangled Banner outside one of the casinos, we were sitting down at the time, but stood up as a mark of respect (though didnt sing along).

Very moving when your in a crowd of hundreds of people singing their National anthem.

I think if you disapprove of your gov. Don't stand. It's honest.

amen. I want 'em to be able to burn the flag. it's their right as free speech (and I truly mean that). the American flag is a piece of cloth that represents the idea of freedom. you can burn the cloth as free expression without burning the idea. besides, burning the flag sends a message to those around you that they are equally free to interpret. they can decide for themselves whether they see your action as a genuine protest or whether you're a trendy poser hoping to get shock value out of the event.

Trouble with that is everyone will have an axe to grind about how the 'government' handles something, cops, gays, min wages, social assistance, veteran's affairs, war in the Middle East........ eventually at any one time half the audience will be seated.... and then what's the sense of standing because it's all watered down. I say put asside your conflicts with the government, standing for the flag should unit everyone for a few seconds.

Burning the flag in protest, while controversial, is more respectful that dragging it in the dirt and doesn't defile it. It's a clean end to it.

Everyone in N. Korea stands. That's not a good thing. It's fear. If half the audience doesn't stand, that doesn't vie well for the government. And if I were government, I'd want to know so I could work on it. An honest democratic republic would benefit from this knowledge. Work toward rebellion, or resolution. That's a choice

Burning an American flag is bullshit. If you have a problem with the government hold up a sign that says "fuck off" or something to that effect. If you ask me its just a stupid way of saying "look at me im a douchebag that hates the free country i live in"

It's that very same free country that provides protection through their first amendment rights to citizens who burn the flag. Why have a right if you don't exercise that right properly? You may not agree with someone who protests something but they have the right to do it. By law it is a legitimate method of showing displeasure with your country or how it is governed.
