I 'know' the pope but that means shit. If I had spent time with him, called him a friend, partied with him then I have made a decision to associate with him.  If you run with someone it's understandable that you have things in common. People see you as similar. By association, if he's a pedo then you probably are  or are seen as one too. There are lots of people that I would NEVER be seen shaking their hand.
