Have had datsuns/nissans for 20 years but only known about Ratsun for a year or 2. I  think RATSUN is totally awesome! I love the wealth of information, pics, commentary. ALLL 4 FREE!! I feel a bit ashamed I have not 'put in' as much as I have 'got out'. I never had any idea how many datsun nuts(enthusiasts) there were out there...... The more time I spend on Ratsun the more I appreciate it!! I have learned over the years that some people are unhappy and look for reasons to complain. Who cares if someone is "grumpy", brash or rude if the knowledge they share is accurate and helpful. The little 'wheel' on my mouse rolls right on by the stuff posted I don't need. Thank you senior members who dedicate so much of your time and energy :thumbup:

sometimes the new members join and ask what seem to bee silly questions when if they had googled the question it would have brought them to the forum anyway 

 

sometimes if I want to find something on here it is faster to Google it then use the search bar in the forum

There was a time when I felt there was something wrong with the Rat Trap. Too many trolls and not enough patience. I've come to realize this place is far more open and accepting than any other Datsun forum out there. I came here from The510realm, and I will admit, I wandered over to NWD for a while. Ratsun seems to occupy that sweat spot in the middle. The fact that there is limited mod input here speaks volumes to the members we have. This is a good group of people and if new members stick it out long enough to learn their way around, there is plenty of help for the asking. 

 

If we think Ratsun should be something it isn't just visit the Camaro forums. Then remember what brings us here and you realize, thank god we're not normal. We're Datsun folk, and Brother that's as weird as it gets.

Mike Please close this thread if it gets ugly I hoped it would get some problems of membership brought to the surface. Mike why do you think that the new people do not stay? You are behind the lines so you should have insight.

I will post this in the thread also unless you say no.

 

I compliment the Ratsun community; owner, staff, mods, and members for keeping this as a conversation. and not a rant.

I wouldn't say it is broken. There have been problems here in the past, but in the end we work things out. I am going to agree with an above poster in that this is more like an online car club than a forum. And if you put a bunch of people in one place, disagreements will happen, because a lot of us are heavily opinionated! The only issue I see that would scare off some members, especially females, is all the damn porn posts here!

As annoying as it may be, when someone asks a question that has been asked before, people here tend to jump all over them with comments like "search button" or "google". I'm here because I like to help. If I don't want to help, then I don't reply.

 

It's OK to be opinionated, just don't be rude. There's nothing more fulfilling than a good debate, if it's filled with first hand knowledge.

 

There are a few members here that can be abrasive and off putting. I wish they would not take the time to comment, unless they actually want to help.

 

The problem doesn't just exist on this forum though.

 I checked her posts and nothing note worthy, just looking for info that she got and moved on. I didn't see anything said to her that would make her leave. 20K views is almot half what I have.

I dissagree on the word porn. As Potter Stewart said: "I can't describe it but I know it when I see it" I see nothing pornographic with beautiful and varied naked or part naked women. If some picturtes are a bit... (you know) I hide them when I can. It's not like they will be missed. If you complain about something speciffic I can decide based on it's merit... or you can just choose to not go there. Girls too.

 

 

 

We have had a couple of female posters more or less driven off. I imagine by male member(s)threatened by a strong agressive come back from a mere woman. You know who you are, and I think less of you now for this.

It's 4X what I have.  More people have viewed her profile (which has virtually no information or status) than have looked at the "Hotties and Non-Dotties" thread at this point.

 

You can't say it's the novelty of a female member either.  The next most viewed profile of a female member is Jassifrass, and her profile has only been viewed 7k times.

 

I tried search engine key terms to see if she was coming up first on Google or something, but so far no luck.  There's something strange going on and it's extremely mundane and a waste of time studying.  And also bothering the shit out of me now that I know about it.
