I bought a Honda portable 1.2k gas powered generator a few years back.  It has a switch on it that cuts off the gas before you shut it off.  You hit the switch, and it runs for appx 60 seconds until it runs out of gas in the carb.  Saves it from the shitty gas gumming it up..

It's a bit of a pain when you go to start it up because it takes about 7 or 8 pulls to get gas back up to the carb, but it does work as designed.

I think there might be a racing fuel outlet somewhere near me.  I never thought of that, and I need to check that out.  Sounds like a great idea.

I have a 90 HP two stroke Tohatsu outboard on my boat. It's low pressure direct injection and makes no smoke at idle. All you smell is exhaust which isn't bad at all.Smells like what an older car that's tuned properly would smell like.

Tohatsu? I haven't heard that name in years! A friend of mine i

n the '60's had a Tohatsu 50 motorcycle-kind of like a Honda 90.

If you're looking for ethanol-free gas stations in your state (EXCEPT California,

go to the site below.I've printed out the Virginia/North Carolina state pages,& keep

them in a file folder in my older car.

You do know that I lived all my life (until about 5 years ago)

in Humboldt County? When I did,I w as really tire d of the state

Government dictating what you can & cannot buy,& passing laws

without input from the taxpayers/voters.

Look at the annual vehicle registration fees,Slave Reparations ,

and banning of selling gas/diesel  vehicles by a certain date.

Ratsun fact checkers have found this to not be accurate as the word “about” leaves room for someone not know exactly , the day , when you left.

im sorry but you will have to edit your response as it doesn’t fit his self righteous narrative ..

I have an 8hp Tohatsu in the stable. Tohatsu is actually a Nissan. Runs great and I would put it on even par with a Yamaha of the same vintage.

Nissan is actually a Tohatsu.Tohatsu is the biggest outboard manufacturer on the planet.Mercury also uses Tohatsu and rebadges them. For some reason they're not that popular here in the states.I chose this brand because every single component on the engine is made in Japan.

I have an electric lawn mower and would NEVER go back to gas. Mercifully quiet, no oil to check or change, no going for gas or constantly refilling it, no hernia twanging pull starts. I also have a 60? meter 'extension' cord from a mining project. Thick as your thumb knuckle with three small gauge wires with much less voltage drop than a 100 foot cheap cord. Sharpen with an angle grinder (that's the secret to fast easy cutting) and hose it off every now and then. Sits outdoors under a 620 hood till several years ago and now under a table for the winter.

Yep got a mercury 3.3 hp made in Japan. That little bastard is like the AK 47 of the outboard world. It even popped off the back of my floating dock running. I fished it out of the canal, rinsed it, put fresh gas in it and put it back to work. I have one of those little aircooled tanakas for an emergency. Used it to power the floating dock back to the house after the merc went swimming. I like Japanese outboards with the exception that they have never been quite as corrosion resistant to saltwater as omc.

On the plus side you did escape California and owning a Prius. Did you isolate for two weeks to make sure you were not carrying or shedding liberalism into your new state?

No - Surprisingly, they don't hate Californians here (yet).

This could possibly be fake news, but National Review has been around quite a few years that I know of.

Biden considering banning gas stoves.. Unreal.

It's fairly interesting what's been coming out about gas stoves and indoor air quality. My daughter has asthma and it very well could be due to gas appliances where we lived when she was little (without going into too much detail, it was a small place without good ventilation, and older appliances with always-burning pilot lights). Kind of shitty...

Its not fake news and it is all about electrification of everything using what ever they can to justify it...

My local area has mandated if you build it must be all electric and are trying to enforce the same with remodeling.

No natural gas ranges, gas heated forced air, gas dryers etc, so the ideology says that we must get rid of these polluting devices because its ruining our health yet there are no studies shown only that the WHO says so.

The study in that article came up with the numbers by just deciding that's what it is, there is no science involved. Just because you believe something to be true does not make it so.

Biden probably got this idea from Gavin Newsom.Fuck both of them ! All these years of promoting "clean burning natural gas" (their words) and all of a sudden it's dirty now ? Instead of using my gas powered furnace tonight I think I'll light up my woodstove for heat.I definitely don't want to pollute with that dirty natural gas.Wood is much cleaner burning and it's free.

Good catch Oops. I'll admit I was dubious until I clicked the link in the Yapoop article... The simple meta data review was done by PhD candidates at the University of Sydney, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine desperate to get published. At a glance, it looks like a 12.7% correlation between gas stoves and childhood asthma in the US and Europe. I looked over the methods used and it's shit quality. The data collection criteria they used were WAY too broad, and only 27 reviewed studies is WAY too narrow to show any reliable correlation with "gas stoves" specifically. That's fishy as fuck, so I looked for a potential agenda in funding and sponsorship. The biggest donor was the Rocky Mountain Institute "dedicated to research, and publication, in the field of sustainability, with a focus on profitable innovations for energy and resource efficiency." And Rewiring America "the leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying everything in our communities" was the sponsor who hired the sellout PhD students.

Easy now, according to the new liberals invading Idaho (and the ones already here) woodstoves are nasty air quality polluters. Depending on air quality and atmospheric conditions there are "burning bans" and peasants attempting to stay warm with woodstoves are fined and scorned. I grew up in a home heated exclusively from wood, when the winters in Idaho made national news, but that was when we were unwashed savages. Electric is the refined liberal way to power everything--but wait, isn't electric produced by burning natural gas and..shudder...coal? Ha, Idaho has more Hydro power than most States--but aren't there current liberal and casino banked tribal lobbies working to breech the dams, because they claim that the dams are bad for fish? Thank God for all the new wind turbines...impossible to meet current demand, not to mention increased demand of electric cars and now electric heat. Ah HA, used wind turbine blades have been successfully converted into small homes. Small homes are easier to heat and can be fitted with solar panels, don't forget about solar. All the peasants needed for the service industries can be snug in their wind turbine blade houses, powered by whatever solar is available (There will still be a power grid it will cost prohibitive to peasants) eating soylent green...can't wait.
