Well no.. The reason Obama didn't get his vote in his last year is because the American people gave the senate control to the republicans. The power to confirm is placed in that portion of the government. 

 

Its not a given that you automatically get to place a justice just because you have the chief office. The American people have put a Republican in the Chief office and voted to uphold the majority in the senate for the control of the SCOTUS confirmations. 

 

Ethical is not a word that is to be bestowed upon a majority of people in the branches of government. Don't delude yourself.

If you are voted out of office you should not get to pick a SC justice of your choosing IF you get the chance. Better to hang on a few months till inauguration. To jam you biased pic through is a fuck you to the people that gave you the boot.

He has a set duration that was handed to him by the voters to serve. If the opportunity comes to place a new justice and he has the legal power and supporting branch to do so....Well regardless of how you (feel) He is doing it well within the voter consent given to him.

 

Had Obama had the power of the senate then I would say the same stuff begrudgingly.

 

This election doesn't take effect until January 2021.

My best friends dad was in the Air force, guarding nukes in alaska. When they got out and settled down in the PNW he got a job as a contrator - handling the setup of EBT machines though all of washington, oregon, idaho, and some other random shit. 10 hours a day he helped every single bodega, 7-11, walmart, safeway, ect set up EBT and get it connected to system and teach people over the phone at the store how to use it. He did that shit for longer than the 15 years that I knew him before he passed. Do you know the most common fraud on EBT / food stamps? When stores try and 'cash out' a card for people and skim a % off the top. It's not people using it to buy booze and cigarettes and shit. It's business fraud. That's what you should be pissed at. 

 

And that's what happens when you have no social structure for section 8 housing. When they aren't close to the help they need, good schools for kids, good paying jobs for the family. I'm literally in the same scenario. Yard filled with cars across the street, a half-way home for single mothers next door. No one takes care of the yards. No drugs fortunately but nice enough people and they don't fuck with me so we don't have any probs. 

It's not always about "making good decisions and you won't be poor" dude. Sometimes people just get fucked by life. When you are poor, and even more so when you're SUPER poor, it's even harder to scrounge yourself up 'by your boott straps' and get yourself right. Do you know how difficult it is for a homeless person to get a job? That shit's fuckin crazy. No one is going to hire you if you're unkempt, and stink, and your clothes look like shit, and that's not even going into the other stuff like "do you have a car or bus pass" or "whats your previous work experience" or "whats your address". (That doesn't mean that there aren't a bunch of leeches that refuse to get help. My uncle is one of them,)  That doesn't mean you take the support structure that is critical for people being able to make it back into a 'normal' life.
