Dime Dave
Question #1) Would you buy a 510 Spook if it was formed from ABS or a similar plastic? and to a lesser degree Question #2) Do the ducts need to be fully functional? IE Enclosed with a round exit for attaching a hose. I would appreciate you thoughts and comments. Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
The poly body noses, and panels that are used in circle track racing, and on karts seem like they work well. Probably depends on thickness. I don't think they are PVC. Maybe a high density polyethylene. Quote Link to comment

heywier427
I dont think you'll have any problem selling them with open ended/non functional vents. The majority of buyers are not going to hook up the brake ducts. If the 1% of the people buying these and still racing the car cant figure out how to make them functional, they shouldn't be behind the wheel. I would definitely purchase if made out of another material other than fiberglass. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
A Spook with no scoops would be a nice alternative Quote Link to comment
Dime Dave
Guys, Thanks for the comments and G-Duax the PM with a manufacturer lead. I have a call in to them. Jesse C. I've always thought that would be cool to delete the ducts. I edited a photo to delete the ducts (and the valance openings) to get a feel for how it would look. 3 Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
I want one (maybe a few) out of plastic that can handle a cone hitting it and that has ducts :) 1 Quote Link to comment
terolla
looks like a mk1 vw rabbit front lip 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I think the no scoops version would be quite popular. But i do think making both would the best option, if at all feasible. Quote Link to comment
Three B's Racing
That's damn clean Dave and yes I'd purchase one. I believe anything other than fiberglass would hold up much better on those curb, rabbits, cats, squirrels, skunk road debri impacts, besides I have a pvc welder I use at work I could use for patching in the event I break one. Yes yes I know I have box flares but still. Quote Link to comment

I like it and want one! Quote Link to comment
twistedimages
I'd be in for one for sure. Mine has been stepped on at car shows more times that I can count, so I'm sure it's on borrowed time! Quote Link to comment

Noflers
I like the scoops, but like someone else mentioned, we could cut a hole in the duct ourselves to make it functional. What would an ABS option cost? Quote Link to comment
edekalil
I want one or two! Quote Link to comment
Malachi
I would pickup one as well Quote Link to comment
datsuntech
Definitely would be interested in plastic spook option. I've never been a fan of fiberglass spoilers with their tendency to crack and smash, especially when parking in an unfamiliar parking spot... I have a Mk1 rabbit spoiler and whatever it's made out of is very durable. Quote Link to comment
Son_of_a_Datsun_Guy
I would love to have a cheaper alternative to the fiberglass spooks, still in the BRE style with the ducts, even if they're non-functional. I literally eat spooks. Drive the car way too damn much and eventually meet a parking bumper, curb, or cone that just takes out a $200 piece of glass. Not fun... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Question #1) Would you buy a 510 Spook if it was formed from ABS or a similar plastic? Yes please. ABS preferably. Question #2) Do the ducts need to be fully functional? IE Enclosed with a round exit for attaching a hose. Nope. Would prefer not even there, smooth like your photo. Quote Link to comment

john510
Something to consider with an ABS or plastic part is painting it. Quote Link to comment
russaroll
I'm interested. What's the word on these? Quote Link to comment

Most car bumpers today are plastic, and accept paint just fine. They also make special plastic welding rods, and filler for them. Quote Link to comment
