]2eDeYe
Oops.... they fell out. Taking the seats to the local upholstery shop. I lucked out and they had a cancellation, so I get to jump in line. Fresh seats for the drive to Canby this year. :) 6 Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
Well that was gonna be expensive... Other less expensive option in work. :) 2 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Seats are dropped off to be re-golden :) Mikes new RL411 brackets are installed. Things of beauty. Still need to install the new bearings and then I can put the front end back together. I also need to figure out a master cylinder solution, but for now I will just get the e-brake functional. This is the 620 master, which might work in the clutch spot, but I would like to avoid that amount of work  and just in case anyone is wonder how the back seat latches into the up position...I had to have another 411 wagon owner show me how his worked. Instead of adjusting the spring tension, the PO added an extra latch mechanism, I'll get a shot of that when the seats are done, they are actually pretty well done. 4 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Brakes are done. Still need to pick up some cotter pins and brake lines. Thanks mklotz70 for the time and headache of working these out for me  I also bit the bullet and set the position on the transmission cable. Need to figure out where I put the pin and then that is done. One more fitting for the fuel system, seal the trans back up and it should run again. :) 5 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Re Brake master cylinder. DATSUN parts.com lists a original single reservoir master for the 1500 roadster with the warning that the outlet is on the wrong side. This unit is a genuine Nissan part for the JDM 1500 roadster and since the outlet is on the wrong RHD configuration it is a perfect bolt in and brake line hookup for the export RL411 and WRL411. The fluid reservoir is a bit smaller than the WRL and RL unit but works just fine. You can always unclamp the existing reservoir on your old unit and substitute it if you want authentic appearance or are worried about braking. I left the new smaller reservoir [it has an integral fluid filter] on my RL411 and am completely satisfied with its performance. No brake line rerouting or fabrication required! 2 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
I may or may not have cotter pins in my shop. 1 Quote Link to comment

mklotz70
You're more than welcome Steve! Thanks for everything you did at your end! I couldn't have done it without you......literally.....I don't have the SSS parts to test it with! lol :) 4 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Got the pan sealed up. The new filter was different than the one that came in the Volvo kit and there was another one that was not included in the kit. I just cleaned them both up, they were still pretty clean anyways. Ended up just using the gasket from the kit. The one from the wagon is on the right. You can see the other one in this shot. Now to see where any other leaks come from. :) 4 Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
Thanks man. Trying to make it a reliable show/meet driver. :) Got the fronts completed. Still need to bleed the lines, but I am going to go through the back brakes first and get the emergency brake in working order. Thanks again Hosestop. :) Passenger side took some figuring to keep it away from all the moving and hot parts, but it clears and doesn't bind. Will double check clearances once it's back on the ground though. Picked up a radiator while on vacation in Cali. Unfortunately it is for a manual car... I didn't even think about that. It does have the fan shroud plate that mine is missing, as well as leaking from the patched area. I may pull it off and swap it to the rad in the car when I get to fixing the leaks. Not sure if that will happen this go around, getting antsy to drive it and see how she sits with the cut springs. 3 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Redeye Hose stop does great hoses. He is able to make what is needed, great quality and descent price and turn around time. It is the little repairs that help eliminate on road breakdowns. 1 Quote Link to comment

I didn't even think about that. That's really a good thing. Having owned a few automatic Datsuns in my day, they all drove better with a separate cooler mounted in front of the radiator. Get you a nice little $45 Hayden and call it good. You'd be surprised what a difference it makes on longer drives. 3 Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
That looks not too bad. I'm just going to run the stock master for now, unless I end up finishing everything else up soonish. 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Messing with the air cleaner, I had to hack the old wingnut off and messed up the already stripped bolt. Not sure what they were thinking with this design. I really need to find the correct size bolt but this one is in there for now and not going anywhere. Fucking mess... but it's functional at least. Rear brakes are next on the list after I research replacement parts. 2 Quote Link to comment
sebpv
you could have drilled the 2 spot welds and the bold/bracket assembly would have come off 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Yep. I thought of that, bolt head was too big. I have another one with metric threads that will be getting refurbished correctly. 1 Quote Link to comment
