  1. Damn thats a nice bench. If you're interested, I would gladly swap benches with you + cash. Mine is original and year correct for your truck(center cutout) but needs reupholstered. My truck is a '73 so that'd be a perfect swap.
  2. Figure out how much material was required based on the part volume. Then determine how that translates into feed wire length and cost. I would think a part like this would be roughly 25-30$US including your profit. Also willing to buy one if we can arrange shipping to 12919 🙂
  3. If you succeed, I will gladly buy one from you (should the price be reasonable haha) Also, I suggest beefing up the collar to prevent failure later on. Unless of course that new material behaves differently
  4. Silicon bronze TIG welding the seams seems to be the way to go. Its a softer material so easy to grind. Depending on the depth of the weld, you could keep the seam visible. In the future, I plan on doing exactly that. In order to avoid rust from forming in between the panels, I will cut as much of the back panel pinch as possible once welded.

    Slamming a 620..

or weld 4x stands around the notch area to hold it and 2x at the frame end. Then cut away at the notch
  8. as I saw them sawzall the cowl, all I could think why not just drilling out the spot welds...
  9. RIP windshield and back window. They must be pitted like crazy by now. Also RIP Datsun 620. Might as well buy replacement panels and mount them up on a frame...

Theres a spot on the left side of the tailgate that is square. Could it be that said sticker that wore out?
  11. Just a thought here. Is it possible that the different thermodynamics from the dissimilar metals eventually cause the paint bond to weaken? Like paint would stretch more on one metal than the other and prematurely fail...Though that doesn't explain why lead works better. I would need to know what the brazing material is to compare the expansion coefficients

  14. i bought mine on ebay. Type: jdm 6x137.9
  15. Your inquiries go in the classifieds only
  16. Got hailed and bought a kit. Personally the kit works ok, but you gotta be careful when removing the hot glue. My plastic scraper could scratch the paint. Sometimes I would have to do it 3 times to get the dent a tad visible. I ended up going the conventional way with body filler.
  17. Shiiiit. Not the kind of news im used to. Sorry for your loss man
  18. add a filler piece. make the gap as little as possible. It will save you time on the grinding/sanding step
  19. do you have the bench with no indent in it?
  20. Also, find paint that matches the bottom part of that air filter 🙂
  21. Disconnect the battery, protect labels of all kind and the alternator. Then a bit of Simple Green, pressure wash over the engine bay and she's gonna look almost like new.
  22. unfortunately from what i gather the harness grommet only comes with the harness. It is also my desite to change it. The other grommets I ordered on various websites: rockauto, amazon, parts train.
  23. For starters: google it, check how its been done on other vehicles. We can't always feed you the cookies...
