Dropped off a set of 510 struts at the welder to get shortened.

Welded the washers on the Rear Control Arm to subframe, set valve lash, added oil, checked timing, and leaned out the carbs.. l16 with su's is still running rich. All prepared for a fun run on saturday  :thumbup:

And I know that feeling, I drove my 4-door 200 miles Fri and Sat through some hill towns and on I90 to pick up that 2-door in Springfield, and get it to the garage where it's resurrection will happen. Perfect driving weather! I imagine we were the only 510's driving in New England this weekend, lol. We have another Ratsuner in Northampton, so at some point we should all get together.

Picked up my shortened 510 struts to fit a 280zx insert. Just have to clean up the bead the welder left.

Well I brought them back to have the fella clean up the bead, I still had to pay him. And found the blocks to lower the goon now in the front and rear.

What cap did you get? I bought a stant one and it pokes out a bit. Not flush like the stock cap at all :(

I dont know if older american caps fit our filler necks, but theres lots of options of stock looking caps if they do:

The stant I had on it for so long was a smaller diameter around the outside and did not cover the resest area lik this one.

Well this is recent work but not all today.

 

Had the car professionally buffed and polished. Nice to see the original paint shine so nicely.

 

Also installed my 68 Grill and a pair of NOS 68 headlight surrounds.

 

Getting ready for the SPEC510 Meet next month.

Seconds before reading this I was thinking "Maybe if polish the lips of my black painted z 6 spokes I would like them more". Then read fischs comment and went back to look at your pics. I must have noticed subconsciously, which set me off thinking that way.

 

I like it. Mine will likely get a bare metal lip of some kind.
