edekalil
Put a drive shaft and fuel pump on the goon. Found all of the parts needed to get the motor up and running. And covered her a bit better for now. Next the breaks and clutch, hydrolic stuff so it can go and stop. Quote Link to comment

edekalil
Previous owner started to get some rust in the drivers floor board, his fix was to put some glass down. Decided it was finally time to try and fix it. Need to get some panels some where. Good luck on that. Quote Link to comment

jovial_cynic
Got the SR back into the car with a fixed transmission. This transmission came with a rubber isolator for the mount, so I rebuilt my transmission cross-member to accommodate it. Also installed a new electric fan. I just need to top off the fluids, plug everything back in, tighten all the hand-tightened bolts, and go go go. 2 Quote Link to comment

jovial_cynic
Just got these. I'll need to fabricate up the hardware for them, but they sure are pretty. edit: I changed my mind. I didn't get the seats. In other news, after swapping out the transmission and replacing the rod bearings, I got it fired up again. https://youtu.be/1RrLPCBZcSU 1 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
Redid the hydraulic lines in the 510. The whole car has been redone. Ditched the unnecessary and ugly pressure switch (most people don't have it hooked up anyway) and cleaned up the mess of hardline. Plain and simple. I used Rhinohide line from O'Reilly. They sell it in prefab various lengths, or you can buy a 25' roll; which is what I ended up getting. It has an olive green polymer coating that will not crack/chip. It's pretty neat. I found a local shop that has an Eastwood flaring tool to do the flares for me. I wasn't going to waste my time or money with those cheapo tools. 3 Quote Link to comment
Doraemon
Looks good ! Lines look even factory. The black spot paint in the engine bay is it the same kind of stuff the guy with his 510 in Jay Leno's show uses ? Is it easy to clean ? Quote Link to comment
shacks510
The black spot paint in the engine bay is it the same kind of stuff the guy with his 510 in Jay Leno's show uses ? Is it easy to clean ? It's Duplicolor spatter paint, which I clear coated. Left raw, it literally turns to mush and will wipe right off if it gets wet too long. I'm hoping I got enough clear coat coverage. It's easy to wipe the dust off with a damp towel. The texture is there, but isn't at all aggressive. You can run your knuckles across it without an issue. I like it a lot. I used it to my advantage to cover up some paint imperfections. I used about 8 cans. The coverage per can is pretty lousy, but I made do. Quote Link to comment
russaroll
found out my battery sprung a leak. and this... before after i still need to run fuel lines and do something about this crankcase vent. i picked these up. I have a set of these with kits to rebuild them. Just never have worked on any. Yours look great. This will be my first venture into su carbs. It was $680, I just sent them in and said the works. Since i didn't know the condition the were in,(other than used.) i wanted a new starting point. They did send a detailed sheet of what was actually done. You also get a DVD about tuning and some extra helpful info. L20b w/A87 head is what they went on. I just sent the carbs. If you send the manifold and/or heat shield they will polish them up also and it will raise your cost. 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
Those flat top SU are purdy. I could never get my SUs to work right on my old L20, so I swapped to Webber. I tell you what though, with a cam and some porting that motor really woke up. It was like flipping the GO switch. 1 Quote Link to comment
