What we had was a population that was sick of the minority(elite) interfering in their daily lives, judging/controlling us with their personal agenda in mind rather than the good for all to live their lives in pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We didn't have an army before 1776, but we had one afterwards and not many were going to screw with us.

Origins. The Continental Army consisted of soldiers from all 13 colonies and, after 1776, from all 13 states. When the American Revolutionary War began at the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, the colonial revolutionaries did not have an army.

What about those that were sorry that England lost the war, that is an important factor to consider when the United States of America was formed and the Constitution was written, they wanted no minority to dictate to the masses, unfortunately that is what is happening today, politicians and the elite that own them said politicians attack/ignore the Constitution daily and then they sit back and do what they want until the courts tell them that it is not constitutional for them to do that, in the meantime they find or make a way around the constitution(loophole) like what they have done during Covid, small businesses are closed while large businesses that are owned by the elite are open.

Have you noticed that for the United States of America it appears that the wars before 1960 in general were shorter wars and after 1960 they became longer to the point where they seem to never end, it appears to get worse after the elite were able buy politicians votes legally, we became the policeman of the world, this is when we started importing products using slave labor in other countries, this is solely because of the elite and their drive to be richer/more powerful than any before them, they are the problem with this planet, the regular people have nothing to do with the problems with this planet, the elite are the problem.

I have noticed and believe the phenomenon is result of the weak will of the parents of younger generations. The members of these generations demonize and attack, those  imposing discipline. Regardless, of the justification and need of disciplinary action, someone, somewhere, will criticize , undermine and attack the disciplinary action as "went to far" or disproportionate to violation. And, God help the parents who  are videoed applying discipline. The media will crucify them, force  public contrition, job loss, loss of standing in the community, even criminal charges and loss of child custody , might be attempted.

The same "social policing" tactics, have been applied to modern war and America is weaker and poorer, because of it. A rule of war, observed from the dawn of man, until the1960's/1970's was "I kick your ass, then your shit, becomes my shit. But, like child discipline, Gen X and following generations, lack  the will to  impose punishment, sufficient to deter undesired activity.Again, like disciplining a child, punishment applied inconsistently. or lacking severity, fails.

America's grossly, long and ineffective involvement in the middle east exemplifies, the ramifications of weakness.

Feigned inability to control civil unrest is a result of this weakness

The BLM, Antifa,SJW, are a result of this weakness and given the last month of surrendering authorities. Those groups are stronger and America  is weaker.

You know nothing of the available weapon tech back then I suppose, and you keep making the assumption that they didn't think in a forward manner when they wrote the articles. You keep making the assertion that the founders were only talking in specifics of frozen time. A snap shot. Whereas everything else in the constitution is futuristic and fluid, but not the 2nd.....

Automatic weapons were available. Mind you it was air propellant, but the idea was available.

There is also a first draft that defined the 2nd in a much more specific term too, but takes a bit of effort on your part to study.

Don't need to know about what was available then. Can you look forward 250 years from the present and draft laws about those future people and their weapons? or future needs to use them?

Can you post the first draft? Why wasn't the first draft adopted?

I did some reading and it's true that tyranny was probably the best reason for the 2nd. Also: Mason asserted that history had demonstrated that the most effective way to enslave a people is to disarm them.

THE HISTORY OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT DAVID E. VANDERCOY*A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.'I.

INTRODUCTION

Long overlooked or ignored, the Second Amendment has become the object of some study and much debate. One issue being discussed is whether the Second Amendment recognizes the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, 2or whether the right belongs solely to state governments and empowers each state to maintain a military force.3

The debate has resulted in odd political alignments which in turn have caused the Second Amendment to be described recently as the most embarrassing provision of the Bill of Rights.4 Embarrassment results from the politics associated with determining whether the language creates a state's right or an individual right.

I agree that the people have the right to bear arms. I agree that the 2nd could have been much clearer than it is without muddling it with something about the militia is my point.

OK something big is going to happen in about 55 days from now. (Sunday the 27th of Sept. -ish?) Lots of indictments will be handed out to both parties. Sometime soon we will be going back to the gold standard. As there isn't enough gold on the planet to back the dollar valued as it is as is it will have to go way way up. I can't see how Ghislain is going to last much longer she's on top of a huge kiddie porn, slave trading, body parts (not sure if for transplanting or eating) scandal involving thousands of previously 'untouchables' including the Clintons and Prince Andrew, probably orangeman and others from all over the world. That federal judge Ester Salas who's son was killed by a UPS driver is reported to be overseeing a lawsuit brought by Deutsche Bank investors who claim the company made false and misleading statements about its anti-money laundering policies and failed to monitor “high-risk” customers including convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. (Hillery covering her tracks?) The Queen has already been ousted from the palace, her royal coat of arms removed from the gate at Buckingham Palace and there is supposedly a legitimate pretender to the thrown in the wings.

I should have taken notes....

Maybe this is the big bang my son-in -law was hinting at.

EVERYBODY's a descendant of an immigrant if you go far enough back down their tree !

Might be impossible to prove otherwise; memory and even history only go back just so far.

OK, it's Saturday, I'll bite.

The statement on immigration is relevant because........?

Excuse me, but this is a discussion on the 'Destruction of America'.  Just something that ran through my mind at the monent.

I see immigration being used as a cudgel, among many in their arsenal, by the 'Fundamental Transformation' warriors which relates to the destruction of America, to me anyway.

Today's discussion may not be about immigration, but seems that I recall it being a topic earlier in the thread.

My recommendation would be to disregard and go to the next post. It's what I generally do; and I sleep much better when I do.

Have a great weekend, all !!

Isn't that racist ?

This is in no way directed at john510. His post reminded me and I wanted to give some context.

On the Joe Rogan podcast, Douglas Murray made an excellent point. A point, which I agree, but not being completely self employed, will be difficult to incorporate.

Murray proposed, that when someone misidentifies you, as racist for supporting or dissenting, a political position  or idea,  you should attack that person (verbally) as loud and direct as possible (depending on the situation, the use of pejoratives would be acceptable)  Because, there is no way to disprove an allegation of racist, the attack is often unanswered or ignored. It is common to hear the term applied to any subject of debate.

But, an accusation of racism is serious, it could easily damage your professional and personal life.

I have yet to attempt this strategy, but have been victim of  the seriousness of the accusation.  Where I worked a number of food trucks would arrive for lunch. I liked the truck that offered Mexican cuisine. One day, while eating an enchilada a woman, from a different section of the company, asked me about the quality of the food truck enchilada. I told her that it was very good, "Who knew I liked the taste of cat." The white woman (or the person lacking melanin, presenting as a woman) said, "That's racist" and left. I ignored her and finished lunch. The only reason I remember the encounter is a day or two later, I was summoned to HR along with my immediate supervisor. When the reason was presented for the meeting, it took a while, to put it all together. Thankfully, when I explained, the issue was dropped and nothing was added to my permanent record. But, I know these things are remembered by management. I know because I have been a manager. The use of the term racist, should carry equal outrage as the n-word.

I was only kidding. The "racist" term is thrown out there far too often.Prejudice and bigot are no longer used,it goes straight to racist.I agree with attack back hard when accused of that.I work with a Hispanic kid that had a bad habit of using the term often.I told him i don't want to hear it anymore and if you don't like it go find another job.I hear it again you're gone.He doesn't say it anymore. We work together very well.

I was not questioning the relationship of the comment in regards to the thread. We are engaging in an informal discussion on problems facing the United States and that includes immigration. I question the relevance of your comment to any meaningful discussion on immigration. My rebuttal, while slanted, presented opportunity for clarification, and retort.  A chance to present new insight or extrapolation, propelling the simple, bumper sticker bullshit into credibility, or at least make it interesting.  Unfortunately, neither possibility was  realized.

In other news, I too like Mighty Mouse and had one hot glued to the dash of my Datsun
