Part of the problem is that there are jobs some Americans don't want and feel they are above. This has been happening for years where people are growing up thinking they need to be the CEO of some mega company, a rap/pop star or just plain famous for doing nothing!

Me clean up a hotel room, wash dishes, work in the fields or mow your lawn? Fuck that, I wan't more!!! No experience and you owe it to me!!

Fuck'em! They would rather sit and play games than go out and just work. And until people get to work, those jobs will go to those that want them, and  they happen to be illegals.

Key word is "Some" but could you definitively point to any information that this is actually true?

I think this is a false perpetuation for softening peoples opinions about the illegal immigration.

I know I live in an area where it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from,  people are willing to take these jobs. I don't know where people get the idea that there is no citizen here in this country unwilling to take these positions..

The reason some of my colleagues use illegals isnt because they cant find citizens to fill the jobs.. Its because its easier to pay less than the minimum wage standard, along with zero comp taxes to the state. It really is easy to pay cash out of pocket than the put up money for sorting through the state and federal red tape for employing a citizen.

It always comes down to saving the most amount of money. The governments have made it way to burdensome to employ citizens for low skill positions.

Don't confuse rhetoric with reality, the globalisation of terrorist networks prove my statement as an accurate observation of today's world affairs.

Don't confuse real vs perceived threats. Twisted rhetoric infects the globe and radicalizes US citizens.

yep..I was at Taco Bell the other day by my house and I am certain it's like this in the Bay Area and guess what 100% of the workers are Hispanics, probably in their 30s and the manager was Hispanic.  Several weeks ago, I was at the Monterey Peninsula like Salinas and Watsonville and guess who is working the fields, yep.  Hispanics.  One of my favorite breakfast place is in Milpitas, guess who are cooks are, yep..Hispanics..2 days later we went to Georgio's, Italian restaurant, and again the cooks and kitchen help, including the bus boys are Hispanics. Host, Hostesses were whites and Asians. I'm not saying that the Hispanic workers are illegals but let's face it, the vast majority of the jobs they do, a typical American will not do.

My son is 21 now and works at a bank and when he was younger he wanted a job and told him to work at KFC, which is like within walking distance, from the house.  He did not want to work at fast foods.  Eventually he got hired at a Yogurt shop then Hollister clothing store.  Young people are different than when I was growing up. They have to be seen working at a hip store.

So if they deport all of the illegals, who is going to mow people's lawn, clean houses, watch peoples children, wash dishes, cook laundry and who knows what other jobs they fulfill that others will not do.  BTW, do we even have enough buses or planes to transport them since there's supposedly over 11 million illegals in the US.  What about the ones who are here who extend their Visas, like students from other countries?  So it's much more complicated than we think.

Its very complex. Trick is to create a reason to self deport. Not round everyone up.

I think you and Jesse C are making valid points. There are expectations of working conditions, taxation, worker's insurance, and pay scale that are incongruent between the US citizen and the illegal immigrant worker. The market has come to rely on the lowest labor cost, highest productivity option, and clearly the immigrant worker will do more work for less pay in conditions no American should endure.

exactly.

Are there willing citizens to hold those positions for the minimum wage. Abso -Fucking-lutely.  Do the employers want to put up the costs to fill those spots with trackable bodies....No fucking way.

A $15,000 - $20,000 annual income position comes with employer costs of $15,000 on average.

A minimum wage employee has a $30,000 a year price tag. Kinda makes a migrant undocumented individual much more appealing for the bottom line.

Even a liberal Icon such as Cesar Chavez railed against this. He couldn't stand that fact that the FED and State Governments took a blind eye to allowing undocumented people to fill positions with many willing able bodies here in this country. Seems the liberal progressives conveniently ignore this and latch onto political convenient quips of his message.

He hated the illegal immigrant taking from citizen hispanics.

The message that we need these people to fill positions because no one will from the US is a lie.  Its money money money and more money...Oh and political favoritism (Votes) should we grant amnesty every 15-25 years.

Speaking from experience, the vast majority of youth don't want to work at Fast Foods, babysit, mow lawns, wash dishes, etc.  From July - August this year I volunteered to work for a Govt. entity to help young people find jobs and I would have to say that 90% did not want to work in menial jobs.  They want to make money but don't have the education, certification or experience. Even my friends children, who are in high school, want to work at trendy places or Star Bucks.

If America was truly an industrial country they would build the wall with retired gas guzzling cars.

Can't, the Cash for Clunkers program got them all scrapped and sent to China for the steel content...Thanks Obama (too easy to not take the cheap shot for the humor of it)

Illegal immigration is rampant because there are jobs waiting for them here, take that away and you end the game. You want to stop illegal immigration? Simple, aggressively prosecute the employers hiring them. If there was a strictly enforced no ID, no SS#, no job policy, trust me there would be no immigration. Why doesn't this happen? There are huge profits being made on the backs of these "criminals, rapists and free loaders" and multiple domestic industries hire them every day. How many times have I heard "I will secure the border!" from countless campaigning politicians, only once in office, it's back to business as usual. It happens every fucking time, so do I think Trump will make good on his campaign promises? lol Be a belieber

You obviously have never worked where there are false papered workers.  The needed paperwork isn't as hard to get as you think making it difficult to prosecute against employers who had every reason to believe the paperwork to be true and the government never disagreed with any of the tax related filings.

I can prove this in the local community to me.  Not many young people are willing to work the fields picking berries or vegetables like the very hard working migrants in our area.  The migrant workers take pride in their work, whereas the young locals don't like the idea of getting their hands dirty and waste more time BSing and throwing things at each other then have the audacity to bitch about not getting paid enough. And further, other than the migrants, there aren't any others beating down the farmers door to get these jobs, even though it's been covered in the local papers they are shorthanded in the fields.

Well, here is the awful truth, I am Hispanic! Yes, my parents emigrated from Mexico and had kids here. I know, almost an anchor baby, but, my parents are legal, only mom now since pops went in '07.

And thus I can not pull the how awful it would be to get deported move.

I was brought up to work, no matter what the job was, it was a job. Dishwasher? Done it, Fast Food? Done it. Retail Sales? Done it. Household Mover? Done it. And there have been better jobs as my skill set grew. I have been a salesperson, project manager and fabricator, not a Matt level fabricator, but I welded and made stuff. I am now a Material Control Specialists, AKA Warehouseman, for the Community College District. I have done all this with just a High School Education. I think I have done well all things considered.

I know some who have received degrees and feel cheated that they are not making millions, living in a huge house full of toys and have to do menial work to survive, if they are working at all!

There once was a time where anybody would do the menial jobs and be happy to have a job. But the generation that followed it started relaxing that view and started wanting more. I feel that most kids of my generation have cheated their kids by not instilling a better work ethic and letting them know it is ok to do any work that keeps a check coming.

Yes, reach for the stars, but, keep grounded in reality. You don't have to be a dishwasher the rest of your life. But, it is a start and you can move on. And if you don't, don't blame anyone but yourself.

As for proof, well, just look at what the media pushes on kids. Fabulous party lives, jet setting, people who are famous for no reason and people who get away with anything. Who wouldn't want that? But, they don't show the reality of it. Reality T.V. is the most unreal thing there is.

Ok, enough soap box shit.

Here are some trust fund kids having fun. Enjoy!

The guy who delivers our paper is an old vietnamese guy with a beat up toyota truck, the guys who mow our lawn, townhouse complex, are hispanics. Back in the days, young kids, white, mexicans, asians and some blacks would hustle with their pushmower around the hood and mow lawns for five dollars and ask people if they want to have their cars wash. I worked at the sj flea market and would walk like 2 miles, one way and get up at 5 pm. At about 16 years old, i bussed tables at a chinese restaurant. Then got a job at kragens and would walk about 3 miles because bus svc sucked big time. Somehow, i dont see young people hustling like back in the days. I admire the immigrant, legal or not who hustles for a living so that they can send money back to their family.

I live in small town rural america where the kids still grab up any work they can.

Cant speak for your area, but it sounds kinda posh.

I have seen the kids you speak of but these kids inhabit the city to the north. Eugene/Springfield... I still don't think its as wide spread as you think it is.

This just in, Trump campaign executives are in talks with FOX t.v. about producing a show tentatively titled, "Deportation Force".

It's not storyboarded yet but will be either a scripted reality show a la "The Hills" or a straight documentary like "Cops".

Trump and FOX executives see this as a relatively inexhaustible revenue stream once the deportation ball starts really rolling...

Mattndew, i like hearing those kind of stories. Gives me hope. Maybe its the way it is in the bay area and certain small towns youth, where u are at, still have an excellent work ethic. Growing up in the valley, i saw the work ethic. Now i rarely see it. Also been working as an employment counselor for over 25 years or so, im witnessing more and more youths and even adults being picky about the types of jobs they are willing to secure. Earlier someone quoted " people want a job but people dont want to work". This sums it up.

So as the areas explode with success of a hardworking generation the offspring do nothing as the parents do all the work.

Can't wait to hear my kids tell me they are above bucking hey for 3 weeks.

Sad that people don't want those jobs, cause they pay low and require hard low skilled work. Migrant labourers will take , so more flow .. corps like apple stack billons in cash and build in china

Would they pay more to build in America with cheap labour, or even educated citizens who are offered opportunity.

We need certainty, and growth! to risk apple cash . CEO for Hillary

I loved doing the farm work.

Work 10 hours 6 days a week, get breakfast, lunch, and supper from the farm family.

Paid more than Taco Bell and was always in cash. Some of the best summer memories were made on the local farms or after

Because you had a stack of what seemed like a lot of cash for that age.

I worked with a Marshallese guy who basically gave every bit of himself to earn enough to send home. Dude lived alone in a cheap slum complex. Bought clothes at the Salvation Army every week from the 50 cent bin because it was cheaper than doing laundry. Ate three egg Mcmuffins a day because breakfast is cheap. And a 6 pack of Coke every day so he doesn't live too long. Fucker worked hard and showed me how to respect a paycheck. I was 14 pouring concrete, so it got to me. I went to high school at Obamas high school, amongst privilaged (as hell) kids. But I started in a public school that makes Alabama look good. So I saw both sides of the spectrum. I hope I can show my kids that work ethic.

I did a lot of golf course maintenance work , in California was obviously Mexican South american workers, and some really good people.

But I didn't feel like it was a positive relationship with the corporate owned country club where I was a superintendent and the crew. Some on both sides took advantage of the situation, to everybody's detriment.
