Bread and circuses. Only to find out (inevitably) a year later that someone cheated. Or politics prevented some country/athletes from competing. The IOC is corrupt as fuck and an embarassing joke. Always has and always will be. You speak the reason I couldn't give a rotten shit about this garbage. The event needs to held in 1 designated venue every 4 years. Fuck this money laundering money scheme the current olympics are. Athens should be where the olympics are held and all participating countries are required to pay a set fee for upkeep on the sports venue. If you don't pay you don't play.
