CaliforniaDays
One of my friends backed into my '69 510, bent up the fender pretty good, creased the fender well and bent up some other stuff, any advice? I'll upload more pics if you guys want to see anything else, send some advice my way!! Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
ouch that sucks I would start by having your friend walk to your house or go pick him up or get a friend that knows how to drive sorry I am just being a smart ass get some estimates from a reputable body shop and start looking for a new fender the good thing is you have 70 or later fenders on your 69 and they are easier to find PM the510keeper on here he might have the parts you will need Quote Link to comment
danfiveten
I'd fucking kill my friend after that Quote Link to comment

CaliforniaDays
Yeah no joke. He hit it pretty hard to damage the body like that, well see what happens. You guys think I can replace the body? It's beyond repairable, maybe cut away what I need on another 510? Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
That can be fixed by a good body man. It will not be cheap. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
It will cost approximately 1 vacation. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Ok, apart from beating this "friend" to a bloody pulp, based on the pics it's definitely reparable. Pull the r/h fender, front valance, front bumper bar, and r/h light assembly out and then post another pic, preferably pics. Again, based on the pics alone the two biggest problems I see here are if the hit has pulled the radiator supoort panel down (possible), and pulled the front radiator support piece and headlight mounting area out of alignment, albeit slightly. Either way, all appears repairable to me. Did I mention administering an unmerciful beating to your "friend" ? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Un friend him.... on facebook Quote Link to comment
CaliforniaDays
I'll strip the fender, lights and grill off when school chills out and put up some more pics for you guys. Looks like the510keeper has some parts for me so at least I'm not stranded with an unrepairable car. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Seriously mate, again, based on the pics, worst you'll need is a front fender. Pay for my Airfare to Cali and ill come over there and fix it for nothing for you :) 1 Quote Link to comment

Pay for my Airfare to Cali and ill come over there and fix it for nothing for you :) I'd be game if the fender was it, the pictures don't do much justice but he pushed the corner of the wheel well back 2-3 inches :crying: I'll put up better pics when I get the chance Quote Link to comment

yenpit
I had to do a front cut on mine. OMG don' scare the poor guy like that!!!! :w00t: Wow, that was a hell of a front clip replacement!! CaliforniaDays, I agree with these guys......looks completely repairable. You just have to decide what kind of mulla you want to spend........or should I say, what your buddy will have to spend!! Quote Link to comment
torqued
Just like a jigsaw puzzle. Drill out the old spot weld. Reattach with new. Gusset the joins. It was all done legit on a chassis plant ETC. Took a weekend. But not something for someone to attempt if they are not familiar with the trade. Quote Link to comment
