wayno
I've been paying them for years. I was wondering if the ones losing their links were free accounts or not. I'm not sure I trust them to leave my account along and just let me renew or if they'll expect me to pay the $400 on renewal. I'll be working on archiving my stuff between now and then, just in case. I don't create much content anymore with PB....just youtube and instagram. If they did that to the paying customers they likely would be history, you just cannot do what they have done to everyone and stay in the game. So far I have not seen any of your photos disappear, but I don't have the time to check all the threads I follow, let us all know if they screw with you also. I opened a Photolame account the same day I joined Ratsun, every one of my photos is gone, and I posted a lot of photos. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cleopatra Jones
So dig this. I have the free service with Photobucket. I uploaded a photo on my phone and just tried to paste the link in a thread in here and it didn't work. I copied the link on a desktop machine and pasted and it worked. I wonder if that's just a glitch but I guess it's a work around for now until someone figures it out. I'm not paying for that shit. I'll find another service. EDIT: I also just noticed that it's still not viewable on the phone but it is if you're on a desktop. Guess I'll be signing up with another photo host now. 1 Quote Link to comment
Redrumls
Not a glitch, that's how it is now.. sucks. I wish the forums were like instagram.. easy to load. Greg 2 Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
It appears that anyone using photobucket via a free account is now being flagged for using it for 3rd party hosting. In other words, if they're going to host our photos, we have to pay for it or no one else can see them. :poop: :poop: :poop: Not only does this suck, Photobucket wants $40 a MONTH!!! WTF??? It gets better. They also reserve the right to throttle our usage at $39.99 per month. As if all the advertising doesn't pay for the site??? 1 Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
Someone has updated the Wiki page about Photobucket. As time allows, they will block all people who use 3rd party posting unless you have the $39 per month account. Even then, they retain the "right" to throttle usage. This info is straight from Photobucket. 1 Quote Link to comment

Draker
You can download your full album from photobucket. Problem is.. that doesn't fix all the broken links scattered across the internet.. but you do get to retain your photos. The thing photobucket had going for them is their phone app, and the ease to select and post embedded links. It made it so simple.. Flickr looks interesting, but it's a yahoo company. Not exactly the most stable business.. or security focused. 2 Quote Link to comment

Why work on desktop but not mobile devices. You'd think they'd disable on both platforms. Photobucket can suck it! 3 Quote Link to comment

Ratsum fucked now because of PB, all them PB pic links are DOA unless someone pays for their service now. 1 Quote Link to comment

I'm digging up and archiving my threads....at least the ones I can find.....and I'll put them on my website at some point. If PB shuts down my links at some point, I'll still have the info. PB has pretty well screwed forums and blogs. Sorry.....but I'd get a big smile if I heard that the person behind the decision got their knee caps busted for this. 3 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Except for it's been bought out by Verizon, changing it's name to something fucking awful. Has an incredibly bad business model, CEO's keep running it into the ground AND it's had several security breaches over the recent years. Seems like a place I'd want to store my content. 1 Quote Link to comment

I've stopped uploading there all together. It has to reduce the number of people clicking the links and viewing ad's on their website as well. We'll see I guess. I'll copy all my content and leave it up on photobucket, just in case it ever comes back from the dead. Or until someone sues the shit out of them. Not sure what legal ground they would have exactly. 1 Quote Link to comment

Z-train
Sent them an e mail telling them to piss off. I won't close my account they can shoulder that. Basically it's blackmail. I just told them to shove their server up their ass. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cleopatra Jones
Can't find embed link in flickr. Sigh. Why does this have to be so difficult? Using imgur. Less painful. 1 Quote Link to comment

Cleopatra Jones
Use BBB code link. man, this guy rambles. My link should start you out at the 1:00 mark How to use Flickr to post photos to a forum https://youtu.be/qjy6-u6RU3g?t=1m1s I know where to get the BBCode but the problem is the only tabs I get are Share and Email so only the http link and email options are available. I'm not sure why the BBCode and Embed tabs don't show up. And apparently your images have to be public to get the embed but it still wasn't working regardless. I don't dig the fact that your images have to be public unless it's changed by now but everything I found said they had to be. 1 Quote Link to comment
d.p
Add those pics to an album and make that album public. Otherwise idk. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cleopatra Jones
I made them public in an album and stand alone but for some reason same result. It just didn't want to work so I gave up. Imgur was easier and working fine. I updated some stuff in here already. Bit of a pain but I'm only doing the how to's. Everything else can fall by the way side as it's not that important. 1 Quote Link to comment
