Lol “Daddy Motorworks.” And the slave looks awfully short but what do I know.
  2. Even if they don’t go all the way down you can simply cut off the the section sticking out past the block.

I guess I am just trying to get the most of my setup and assuming having a wideband will help me do that. RN I don’t fully understand what is ideal for idle, load and WOT or if they even matter. Meaning as long as it’s not too rich or too lean it’s fine. The truck runs great, super smooth on the highway, starts up super easy too but maybe not as fast as I expected. Don’t get me wrong it’s a huge improvement over the an l16 but still slow compared to what I am used to. Anyways after driving it some more with the wideband under load it’s around 11-12.x give or take, never

Yeah I noticed it goes lean on deceleration in gear. Learning as I go here so appreciate your help mike.

Ok I got rich and lean mixed up, it didn't go lean at all during my short test. Hard to see it too because the gauge is hanging loose until I get a mount. So at more than cruising its going rich around 11-10 which means I should lean it out the carbs? I had it backwards and richened them up but it started pouring and my helper (son) quit on me. I tried to do it on my own but almost impossible to watch the gauge and drive around. Should the truck never be lean? I only want it to be stoic or rich? I also swapped out my volt meter for a water temp and it hovered rig

Without a doubt its not running rich I know that, just a little lean under somewhat WOT (which I think should be execpted?).

Yeah it is nice and my first real NOS part. Got the wideband installed and not quite sure what I should be doing with it? After installing it and driving around for a little bit (its raining here) it mostly stayed green but when I got on it it went to 10.x - 11.x which richen up. I couldn't get much higher than 4K RPMs because of the weather and I really have no idea what I should be seeing on the A/F. Can someone give me a crash course on tuning with a wideband?

Got my NOS side mirror, paid $185 for it. Titties to have something NOS like this. Fuck fender mirrors.

Choke knob/switch have a spacer? I removed that the other day so it might have come off there.

Never had it disconnected so it would be odd for it to fall out of there. I guess I just need to crawl under the steering wheel (what a bitch to do) and see if I can find where it came from.

Anyone know where this goes? Seems to have fallen out from behind or underneath the cluster.

Yes mam. Is the weld or slip on(in) tip? haha I know it wasn't you who said it originally, I think it was @banzai510(hainz) said it a couple years ago. But it does seem to be a recurring theme and I can see how people could get frustrated with these trucks and move onto something else especially if they were a dd. And if I remember correctly in 11/2021 it will be 5 years that I have owned this fucker and yet to get bored with it. Hell I was on FB marketplace yesterday trying to buy a KA24DE to rebuild over the winter.

side exit? Maybe between the cab and the rear wheels? Mine is just down turned under the back of the bed. Tucked up and away like some of the dudes dicks on this site.

Oh and @mainer311 I’m done shitting in your thread. Did you figure your exhaust out yet? If you need a good resonator and muffler let me know and I’ll share the part numbers I ordered. YMMV as you are going with a thinner tube but it sounds good nonetheless.

OMG old man don’t they cut the internet off at the home right before dinner at 430? We’re having a discussing about the benefit of having it dyno tuned or not and here you are being a whiny grandpa. I never asked for a 6 second drag truck but I would like to know what all my time money and effort resulted in.

Haha know it wouldn't be a $1000 to find out what my redline is, it would be a $1000 to have a baseline HP/TQ on a dyno (all of this on a dyno) , tuned and jetted if need be, after HP/TQ so I know how many ponies I am making and finally what my rev limit should be. I think.

haha the voice of reason!! And at that cost to benefit I would pass hard on it but I really have no idea how much HP I have to gain by doing it.

You saying have it dyno tuned for $1k or just tuned for a couple hundred bucks?

    Just bought a 521

I have the money and the time, whether I have the desire remains to be seen. I can get it dyno tuned by a somewhat local shop https://datsunspirit.com/ but will cost me north of $1k. He said he could tune it minus the dyno for a couple hundred but when I was going to do it my jets were loose and the truck drove like shit so I had no interest in even attempting to make the drive over there (80 miles one way). Hell I was even contemplating getting AAA to just have it towed there because I had no confidence it would make it there and back. But since I solved the loose

Yeah well I was getting at what number can I safely REV it to? But I guess without knowing all the details I won't ever get a specific RPM answer.

Oh and I have no idea if my valve springs are upgraded but I do know whatever the caps are called that hold them down are.

Yeah I agree but still no answer to my question, everyone wants to talk some nonsense about cam timing, a z24 block, what I set my redline to, etc...someone just tell me at what RPM I should stop rev'ing to on a bored and cam'd l20B?
