mattyhacks71
So much yes to the painted letters! :D I really like those wheels too, are they like a gm 4x4 wheel or something? Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Whose rims? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Thanks! Those rims are my spares. Before I got the current one's I had them on, but never got the full set on. They're 15x8, probably about 0 offset I'm guessing? Pretty sure after comparing them, they're diamond racing's or some generic steel wheel. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
I'm a "slot" guy.But those are bitchin'. Quote Link to comment
motavated
I think it is a great idea. I was actually going to do the same thing but not of the tire brand. I was going to do what rwb does to his cars and places a local track on his tires. http://www.rwb.jp/gallery/idlers_Game2011612/IG201109.jpghttp://www.rwb.jp/gallery/idlers_Game2011612/IG201109.jpg We had a dirt track here locally that closed down. Going to place their old name on my tires. XD what they drove. http://garbell.com/blchvl.jpg http://garbell.com/racing/figure8-68.jpg http://garbell.com/ascot.html I think it will fit my junk truck fine. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I haven't honestly even touched the tires since I had the idea  Speaking of which, I replaced the rear 205/60 with a 225/50 so it's a LOT nicer now and a ton smoother! Also confirmed truck is getting LZ23 stroker soon! Give me about a month-2 and it should be in with a freshly rebuilt 5 speed! LZ23 = Z20E block Z22 crank Z20 long rods 86mm dished forged Mahle pistons A87 Closed Chamber .460 Racer Brown Cam Big Z valves and to top it off for now, A 32/36, Until I can afford to get a side draft 45 DCOE. I have about $600 worth of parts that came in today. Exedy Stage 1 clutch, clutchless waterpump, trans bearing/seal/synchro kit, 12'' fan w/ thermostat, etc. 2 Quote Link to comment

TENDRIL
the a87 makes it an "L" z right? Quote Link to comment

Tristin
What are the length of Z20 rods? Are they the same as L20b/Z22? Quote Link to comment
rgk93
It's AWESOME at summit [img=http://community.ratsun.net/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif] HUGE amounts of everything you could ever want [img=http://community.ratsun.net/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif]I haven't decided on the frame yet, I think I may use angle iron and 1/4 steel. Gonna hang it, and see what i can work with[img=http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i471/Yatesphoto47/IMAG0968.jpg]bite me :fu: I cut it off after that picture We need one of these stores in Australia :o Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
the a87 makes it an "L" z right? Correct! I think we decided the compression with the closed A87 would come up to about 9:1 with the dished pistons. What are the length of Z20 rods? Are they the same as L20b/Z22? The Z20 had two different sets of rods iirc. The ones in this motor are different then L20b and are about 6'' long. The truck will be hitting the dyno for before/after results. Quote Link to comment

metalmonkey47
Im jelious I need a gf now for datsun side boob shoots She volunteered  Ordered some CHEAP LED lights off of Ebay for some additional brakelights. I don't feel like the stock stuff is very bright :poke: I haven't picked out a good high mount light for the camper shell yet.... but this is what I have that's going to be mounted low. When I get a little extra cash, I'll replace all the brakelights with GOOD LED stuff. And then install my flasher module. Super cheap, so it's worth trying out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/180826522829?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Quote Link to comment

TENDRIL
would you be able to turbo this thing? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
would you be able to turbo this thing? I think the compression ratio is probably too high for me to be comfortable with it. I could probably rebuild the u67 head with bigger valves and be okay Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Hi MetalMonkey good to see your are still at the 620. How did you score a GF that works on dattos and is beautifull? metalmonkey47
Hi MetalMonkey good to see your are still at the 620. How did you score a GF that works on dattos and is beautifull? Please tell us she brings you cold beers while you are watching her work on your truck! LOL Truck is looking great. Dunno man, it's fate! She offered to work on it, and enjoys spending time with 'her' beautiful truck! haha I'm allergic to the alchy. I break out in handcuffs :P ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyone know off hand what the biggest difference between the L16 and L28 clutchless water pumps is? Other then the pulley that is... The shaft size appears to be a little larger, and the impeller design looks a little different... The L16 is a steel impeller, and the L28 uses a cast iron impeller. I have an L28 pulley, and don't feel like sourcing out an L16 one if the L28 pump will work okay. It looks perfect. L16 L28 L16 top, L28 bottom Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
The pulleys line up different I believe, mock it up yo. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Well that L16 has a stamped impeller, bad juju. Quote Link to comment
Sealik
The pulleys line up different I believe Correct....but if you can find the right pulley for the L28....run it...... and then toss that stamped impeller pump Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
can you take a tape measurer from sealing surface to hub face on each and report back ? :) Pulley v-line depth between the 2 as well. Mock it up yo ! (redbanner) ollz. ive shimmed remanned water pumps that werent pressed on far enough or too far before on other cars ... maybe not professional but it worked. L28 looks good hehe. Sealik
ALSO.... Here's the Exedy Stage 1 for the Z22/Z24L28 Notice the difference? Or right.... Quote Link to comment
