Can anybody tell me if the instrument panel in the square headlight 210 that was sans clock and tach had a delete plate at the bottom of it?

I could swear there was a black delete plate that went in there but maybe I'm crazy?

The instrument panels that came with a tach and clock has a panel that fits in there only because the brake and seat belt indicator lights are in there.

Can you all take a look at yours and let me know if that panel area is open or if there is a delete plate? If there is a delete plate I'm in the market for one and I can post a wanted ad later. Thanks!

Well, I hate to show my car since it's a bit self-conscious right now.... but here you go:

Finally have it running super after getting a speck of wood out of the primary jet! Now I'm willing to work on the looks a bit more.

I think those two things on the hood are waiting for some stripes! Oh, and that light's waiting for a new cover. I'll probably try my hand at a paint job someday.

I must not lose that silverish frame around the rear lights. One's loose :w00t:

A look at the interior

It's just a work in progress.... and pretty cool to drive around.

No pics, but my tan 2dr and brown 4dr both had a small black plastic delete plate that went there...

Thanks datsunfreak! I didn't think I was completely crazy.....yet. I'll see if one of the guys I sold some tachs to can sell me their delete plate.

Can anyone tell me what size socket I need to remove the nut that holds the steering wheel? Not sure if it makes a difference but I have a 1981. I'm looking to get myself a steering wheel puller (for junkyard purposes) and want to make sure I get the right size. Thanks!

Ha! Yeah I've read some of the threads on here where guys cracked themselves in the head pulling the steering wheel. Believe me, I've taken that to heart. Either a helmet will be involved or I'll have the bf strong arm it. He can take a hit :)

take a hammer and a center type drift punch with you

the column shaft has a divot in it put the center punch in the center of the divot and tap the punch with the hammer 5 to 10 times it usually loosens the wheel and you can take it off with one hand

you dont have to clobber it but hit it firm

Thanks again vex and hosestop. The sizes you gave were perfect! Got that steering wheel off today no problem. I think what helped most is the car we tackled today was so burned up by he sun everything was crumbling. Sad to see that but I got the delete plate I was needing for my instrument panel. Pretty soon I'll post pics of my dash with my OEM clock in there. A jy find that I had fixed.

Sierra, thanks for the tip. Didn't know AutoZone would do that but with as much as I hit the yards it just makes sense to have one.

I hope to have some 210 porn for you all soon!

Very nice and welcome. Here we called your car 210 (or a B310) which followed the B210 which followed the 1200. It's so confusing I have to look it up every time.

Your 140Y is in great shape. Has elements of the larger A10 sedan and size of the old 1200. Our B-310s changed to square headlights mid year '80. Looks very clean inside too. I think we have a 620 section... will you post pictures of your truck?

Hi, This is my first post

my 1978 B310:

After i installed some Lotus vintage wheels on it:

Are those Lotus Elite Wheels? Did you need to do any modifications, or is the bolt pattern the same?

They look great! (I like the Lotus Elite a lot - it looks like a futuristic Gremlin.)
