Here is a little game I play with NPR which I used to enjoy but has become the gay/race channel. I turn off NPR whenever a gay/race subject comes up which usually means 23 seconds of play until I am off to another channel. Still try to catch the BBC news hour and weekend shows. Sadly car talk is gone.

Catch that BBC? *Ahem*. Speaking of BBC, what happened to good old fashioned normal size porn? BBC is destroying america

I find that amusing, since I use a local classical station with NPR in the morning for my alarm clock.  Sometimes when it goes on, I only need to hear 3-4 seconds of their drivel before I hit the snooze or turn it off.  Unfortunately my better classical station is out of range of the bedside radio.

And by the way, since you seemed to reject TDS as a legitimate thing, take NPR for an example of being afflicted.  Since 2016 they have done nothing (like all Democrats) but go after Trump and report negatively on anything Republican.  As you noted in your post (I like that gay/race channel moniker👍), they have become considerably more extreme in their topics and reporting.  Not to mention, 50% or more of their hosts have to have three pretentious names.

Different angle, but same subject.  Try watching PBS for an hour in February without being beaten about the head with "bad white man, white man bad" rhetoric.

So once again NPR and MSNBC.... crap. Nothing can be reported without someone saying 'bias'. I remember when we all thought 'uncle' Walter Cronkite was dishing the truth out with " ... and that's the way it is." I wonder how he would be received today? Naturally he was from a time when there actually were journalists around. The last 20 years of his life must have been horrible seeing how low journalism had sunk and the death of news papers. The rise of social media platforms shaping perceptions without outside control or perhaps more easily controlled?

I have always said I don't and won't be on any social media but it was pointed out that discussion on Destruction is social media. I don't support any candidate for office. (other than Trump in '16) He was the worst but secondary to Killery.  Never look at the good always search out and look for the bad, it's more instructive. Good is simply doing what's expected of you, why should you get credit for doing that? Bad is what needs explanation and accountability.

I thought the Hush Money trial was next but this is an international judgement...

Trump sues Orbis Intelligence and Christopher Steele in UK court and ... loses. No, Britain was not engaging in electoral interference and it's doubtful the judge was a Democrat appointee. Instead, Trump or Trumps legal team simply fucked up massively by filing too late and after the 6 year limitation.  This was in early February. Recently he's been ordered to pay the legal fees for this fuck up, amounting to 300,000 pounds. ($385,000) Just imagine suing someone and wind up having to pay them!!! This is what you get for being a cheap bastard and hiring incompetent lawyers or narcissistically knowing better and not listening to their advice. You just can't make this shit up. Every day for Donny is worse than the day before.

Cali bros, whatcha think about this?

The law isn't in place yet and we're already seeing what the new normal will be. No cashier to take your order, you use a kiosk now. Taco bell, Carl's Jr. and McDonalds have already started it. Fortunately my favorite Burger joint still uses real people and won't be part of that shit. Screw Panera Bread for donating to Newsom's bullshit.

I heard that there might be some other carve out in the law for places that make their own sausages.  That sounds strange to me, but it's California after all.

I don't remember where I heard it, but I think maybe my wife was in the other room watching the news and I overheard it maybe..

I guess that means someone was really giving Newsom the sausage....

Fast foods: the opiate of the masses. No one should eat that fast food shit anyway.  There's a McDees in a local WallMart. I look in as I pass by and there are always fat chicks in there.

Banks are motherless whores and should be first against the wall when the revolution comes. I remember reading my mortgage 24 years ago and thinking it was not a good deal, but I couldn't afford a house without it. So what you going to do? It has been known from antiquity that negotiation with an imbalance of power will never yield justice and when their greed and injustice caught up to them, Banks laughed it off and showed they haven't been satisfied slowly fucking people here and there, Banks have been fucking everybody all the time and you can like it or live in a box.

The housing market is super fucked now, but it has always been fucked. Real estate/valuations/mortgages are a sensitive spot for me as the tax man continues to try and steal my home.  (And it is stealing - saying someones home is magically worth more so they owe more (annually, of course you pay tax on a higher amount if you sell it for a higher amount, but that is a one time tax))

Anyway, I've been paying on my mortgage 24 years with 6 to go (God willing no emergencies) You think there would be little left BUT YOU WOULD BE WRONG. On a mortgage you pay all the INTEREST first, the 30 years of interest, THEN money comes off the principle. The principle is dropping now, but that is some shitty, sideways, bullshit dealing, invented by bankers and every month when I see the bill that I have been paying for decades and realize the ass load of interest, I know the interest agreed too, but too really feel it, realize so many years of your life has been spent paying for the privilege of using someone's money, in a system designed by those same people to make it very very difficult to not use their money. Don't even get me started on the system, used by bankers trying to steal from me. (Remember tax is included in the mortgage, tax goes up, mortgage goes up, can't pay your mortgage BANK takes your house. What if you say NO,  bank can't take my house! GOVERNMENT- cops/sheriff remove you and take you to jail because you haven't been paying your TAX your made up tax, based on how you house is valued by mortgage lenders.i.e...BANKS!!!) So, every month I look at the balance and say FUCK this system and FUCK BANKS.

No, this is a misunderstanding of how your loan works. You do not "pay the interest first". It may look that way because your loan is so large at the beginning, and you're always paying the same percentage of interest for the loan at any given time.  Your interest is a smaller percentage of your monthly fixed payment as your principle goes down, because your principle is less.  You are free to make larger principle only payments any time you want, which would shorten your term and reduce your total interest, but the fact of the matter is when you first start and owe $200,000, the bank is going to charge you your interest rate on $200,000, and if you only pay the amortised amount for a 30-year loan, then most of those first years are going to be interest because you aren't paying the principle down quickly enough. That's what you agreed to by getting a 30-year loan. You can get a shorter loan for not much more per month and pay tens of thousands less in interest.

Can you pass by a Tim Hortons? When I am in Canada I can't. I stand in line forever for one of thier bacon, egg, maple cresants then find myself standing in line forever at a different Tim's the next morning for another one and maybe throw in a fritter. I hate McDonald's and the others but I need Tim's like a bad crack habit. Crack is probably healthier.

For paying down on a mortgage, the best way to see this is through an amortization table, which you should be able to easily do now (as opposed to with a C-64 when I did it)

If you have some extra to apply to principal, after you've made the regular payment, find the remaining principal on the table, and subtract the amount that you wish to apply to it.  Then go down the chart until that amount appears, which could be several lines or pages down, depending on the amount and where you are in the life of the mortgage.

That will be your new starting point, and, as above, could be several months or a few years along, depending.  You can add up all the figures in the interest column to see how much you've saved by doing this.    Of course you need to assess the feasibility of doing this; it would make no financial sense to deplete a savings paying 10% to pay down a mortgage at 4.5%.

But that's not every day. I like their chili but at home and put lots of Tobasco on it. This is 1 or 2 times a year my wife brings it home. If traveling, Tim's coffee and BLT will get you there. I doubt it's good for you but quick and safe and you don't have to get out of the car. No surprise the coffee tastes good and the same across Canada.  McDee's coffee is ok and has been for about 10 years... it sure didn't used to be... it was the worst.

Trump's lawyers were staling, and let the time run out because, as usual, he had no evidence to prove his case. That's been his standard MO for decades of using the court system as his personal PR stage. In reality, dude's been on a legal losing streak since 2016; to the tune of 1 victory, 7 ongoing cases, and 76 lost. Definitely not the first time he brought a BS case and had to pay up for his antics. On the other hand, out of 71,954 defendants in federal criminal cases, in 2022 only 0.4% went to trial and were acquitted. This review of court records is from Pew Research.

Imagine talking about the guy that's actually President NOW and not the guy that was three years ago. There's certainly some destruction to be discussed by the current guy but for some odd reason he gets ignored. It must be tough having Donald Trump inside your head every day.

What makes you think you a human being can understand how sheep think?

I am pretty sure that the starter of this thread(Gene) would be very unhappy with Mike, he seems to think this thread is entertainment rather than something to be taken seriously like Gene and others on here do, but how would I know how sheep's brains work, I am a human.

My lender has a nice automatically populated graph that allows you to input additional monthly payments and automatically adjusts, showing loan completion and total interest saved 👍

I don't make fun of the mentally handicapped as a rule. But I can try.

So when is the Great Debate happening??? Can you just take a minute and try, just try to imagine these two dullards on the same stage??? I imagine two dogs trying to fuck the same football.

Gene was smart enough to abandon this shit hole shortly after he started it. It's Mike's world, we just live in it for shits n' giggles.

Gene opined about Confederate flags being banned at NASCAR race events. Which by the way are left turning only. Maybe you should ask him?

A serious on line discussion/argument taken to it's logical conclusion, ends with a fist fight out back, a black eye or hurt feelings.  When you are right everyone else is wrong, that's just the way it is. You'll never change someone else's opinion, all you can do is argue about it. So what's the alternative? a little humor/entertainment to grease the wheels maybe? a few digs at the front runners? When it comes to politics and choosing it's like buying a used car, always look for the flaws. A little paint a little wax... anyone can look good on the outside.

Sheep? Human? you aren't above a dig or two yourself.
