Charlie69 Posted April 27, 2015 Report Share Posted April 27, 2015 In the mid to late seventies GM spent a small fortune testing engines to find out what dissipated heat better paint or no paint. Paint won out over a bare cast iron block. Then GM spent more money to find out what color if any was better at dissipating heat. Gloss black won. But GM still liked color in their engine bays so the stayed with the standard used colors for the different makes. I vote 1978 Datsun 638 Black Pearl Metallic! 2 Quote Link to comment

If you run the plastic 521 ash tray in the 520 metal dash top use the metal ring that is in the 521 dash in the 520 dash top it helps the 521 plastic ash tray fit tighter and not rattle. If you need the 4 wire light switch let me know and I will ship it to you. Damn now I have to climb back into the attic and put the dash away with the harness.
