2015 CANBY TRUCK

It amazes me that you guys are pulling together what looks to be a pro grade restore with minor modifications and it's going so quick. Just for restoring my 620's bed the local j-tin specialist quoted 4-6 month repair time, as well as a hefty bill, just to finish the patches, filler, and primer. This build was what inspired me to get out there and get my coupe running to "drive it to Canby"

Sadly the start was a bit too late, but ya'lls work has been very inspiring. Still trying to squeeze in a ticket to fly out and see it in person, and look forward to making the drive in 2016.

And thats not all Daniel C drove down to work his magic on the wiring , He brought his " Ratsun Datsun" 521.  He made the round trip with no problem, cant thank you enough Dan .

We did run into some problems :

All of the light switches we have a 6 wire , all of the dash harness's I have are 4 wire for the lights ,

And the dam rabbits at the crap out of the wiring loom near the fuse block , we could repair these spots , but i may just use another harness all together . But I dont have a harness for  a later model 521 .

suggestions ..?

The one freeze plug by the block breather, it looks like a line is cut through the water jacket?  Or is that in the freeze plug?  Hard to tell.

That's daylight....gap between the cylinders and looking out the freezplug hole on the other side..........

Damn that looks so good! Finally got a place in Eugene, I'll be there next Saturday even if it's only a few hours before work.

U have a spot I could park one of my kingcabs for a week or 2? City on my ass....unlawful storage of a non running vehicle. Yes! I feel the urge to use four letter words.

I'm not sure how that block would mesh with all of the clean parts as is. I'd at least wire wheel it as farmer stated and see how it looks. I think the ratty unfinished block would go well with this, but that's just a bit too back yard :P

meeehhhhh...

i see where youre coming from... but its still kinda chunky..

more wire wheel, and then high temp clear?

i dunno..

I think you should paint it .. cause the whole truck is going to be all new paint, and I don't want my motor to look out of place in my shiny new truck...

I was gonna hit one more time with the pressure washer......get the rest of that wierd blue off......clearing the rust would be cool....

I was gonna paint the block originally......but now the entire truck is being done up......

.......now my idea is to leave a little part of Ratsun on this truck.....just the block rusty....shiny as fuck freeze plugs...

............clean and shiny components....brackets...intake and whatnot.......everything else would be clean around the 40+ year old block....

Just my thoughts......

Keep me posted.........gonna leave it or paint it tomorrow........
