a.d._510_n_ok
well, hell. I don't get to do this much but..... this young man works with my wife and stopped by the house to ask me if I could tell me if the carb on his '71 truck was original. it wasn't. it's a 1 bbl weber. I didn't now these were dual point distributors. does Pertronix make a kit or was this distributor later produced with electronic ignition? also, what is the little hatch in the bed for? the back bumper bears the name of "Birge" and "Wichita Falls, TX" + the remnants of a sticker from Shephard AFB which is right next to Wichita Falls so the truck may very well have been in this area all it's life. 2 Quote Link to comment
Roadster-ka
Duel points were used to retard timing in 3rd gear to reduce emissions. Hatch in bed was to access fuel level sensor. 1 Quote Link to comment
Roadster-ka
Hatch in the floor of the bed gives access to fuel tank level sensor. Duel points are for retarding timing in 3rd gear at small throttle openings. Emissions reductions. 1 Quote Link to comment

KoHeartsGPA
The mouth of that carb looks as dirty as like an exhaust..... Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Looks to me like a replacement carb for a Ford 300ci straight sixer Pertronix won't fit dual point distributor ,, BUT you can just ditch second set of points and run it on just primary set.. It won't know the difference. 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I didn't now these were dual point distributors. does Pertronix make a kit or was this distributor later produced with electronic ignition? For a pertronix, get a single point first. Better yet, almost any '77+ L20b had electronic. You can get them from O'Reilly as well. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/cardone-remanufactured-2705/ignition---tune-up-16776/distributor-12503/distributor/31610/2451093/1979/nissan/620-pickup?q=distributor 1 Quote Link to comment

Figbuck
I was Northbound on 101 in Coos Bay and a guy in a slammed 620 with 1600 badges cruises up next to me. We waved at each other. I was looking for a gas station and forgot my camera was on the seat until we got on the bridge.
