So I already have the JDM side markers on the front, and was wondering what to do on the rear. If I was going to paint the car now I would probably just shave them, because JDM. But since a paint job is a loooong way off...

So I asked Tim "What would you do?". So he says "Do they make the same style markers as the front, but in red?". Then it hits me. No. They do not.

No, what hits me is an idea...

So I ordered another pair of JDM front side markers...

Disassembled them, scrubbed the lenses really good in soapy water so they had no mold release on them (a common problem with new plastics) and bought a can of Tamiya "Red Clear" paint...

Boom. Red lenses.   B)

Will reassemble the lights and install them in the next few days. Want to give them lots of time to dry.

In case you missed it earlier, my dash is wicked bent, so...

Pad removed...

Frame straightened a bit...

Got my glovebox in the mail today from the land of Oz...

Thankfully the pad didn't crack, but as you can see, it was on the bent frame for so long that it is now a little tweaked. Got some weight on it now pressing it into the right shape. If that doesn't work, I may try to leave it out in the sun for a few days to see if that straightens it out.

Obviously the frame didn't come out perfect, but since less than 10% of it is visible once it's installed, I think just getting it straight will be good enough. Gonna get some paint on the frame tomorrow.    B)

I think we have the wiring just about done under the hood. Waiting on my slow ass to finish the "remodel" on the dash to finish up the dash wiring. Then we are just a fuel tank away from running!

Put a Maxi fuse block on the strut tower in the wire that is the main power feed for the fuse box. This way if it needs electrical work in the future we can just pull this fuse instead of disconnecting the battery in the trunk. Also prevents burning the main harness if there's ever a short or the alternator decides to go wacko...

Relays installed for the electric fan and air horns. Still waffling on whether we should make a cover for this to clean it up a bit...

Air horns mounted to the radiator support between the headlight and radiator. Not totally "hidden", but when standing in front of the car looking into the engine bay, you can't see them...

Got all the lights hooked up and ready to go, so hopefully we are done with wiring in here...

Not really as hidden as we wanted it, but light years better than the stock harness was...    B)

Love the air horns. Hopefully, they are as loud as they look.

As soon as we got them mounted and the hoses hooked up, I blew through them to make sure.  One of the "Nancy Boys" standing around started doing the "What?  WHAT?" bit as if I'd made him deaf.  They do quite well on the loudness front.

Ever since I got the car, the bumper bolts holding the rear bumper to the brackets have been missing. Finally fixed that today...

And since I had to polish the chrome where the bolts go, I went ahead and polished the whole thing... And the tail light frames...

Which really just reminds me that i need to wash and buff the car...

The smoked E-code Hellas are metal backed lights, so there is some concern (in my head at least) that using the stock wiring may cause them to short out and blow the fuse since the bulbs are basically always grounded...

So I decided since the aftermarket HID kits use insulated bulbs (bulb frame is plastic instead of metal), I'd give those a try...   ^_^

Damn that bumper looks good!  Are they re-chromed?

Sort of...

They were straightened and rechromed about 17-18 years ago. But the car has been stored inside ever since, and hasn't been driven in about 20 years.

What did you use to polish them?

#0000 steel wool and a lot of elbow grease.

Dug out my spare pair of lower side trims. One wad dented, but I was able to straighten it with a wood dowel, a hammer, and some patience...

Straightened, polished, and installed. Don't know if I love it, but it's way better than staring at 5 holes in the body...

Took the new rear side markers off and got rid of the residue left behind by the old lights, and the leftover double-sided tape from the badges that were on the quarters above the light...

Looking good!

The smoked E-code Hellas are metal backed lights, so there is some concern (in my head at least) that using the stock wiring may cause them to short out and blow the fuse since the bulbs are basically always grounded...

The B110 stock wiring harness has the headlights always grounded. Unlike a 510 which uses ground-switched wiring.

Still waffling on seats. These fell into my lap so we'll give them a try and see how they go...   ^_^

2010 Miata seats in black leather with white stitching. Fairly light weight for a modern seat, and we can probably shave a few more pounds off buy removing the wiring and the air bag. Should sit nice and low too. And since the mounting brackets bolt on, I think we can make them even fit the stock seat rails...

Those look nice and comfy. I have been looking for decent condition porsche "tombstones" for a while but no luck yet. Still wary of swapping the seats in the B210 cause of that stupid cat humb though...

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the seat belt guide at the top. Makes them look a little too modern imo.
