zerow
Good thinking... :D Spent a load of time getting ready for that, and still organizing a lot of the stuff I shot while out there. But I will say one of the 1200s at the show will be featured in a magazine very soon... ;) Wish I could have gotten 5 minutes alone with that sexy green RHD 610 Dimitri brought to the show... I saw you with your camera. I should have stepped out of the way. I think that particular 1200 would be offended by you calling it a 1200. Its always Sunny in SoCal... Looking forward to the shots, let us know when they're ready! Quote Link to comment
zerow
So here I am all set up ready to get work on the 610 done, so I start to replace my mustache bar bushings, and what do i see ? Looks like it doesn't fit, WTF I'm so pissed, their too big No one is as mad as I am now. I guess with cars this old you can't expect parts specifically for them to WORK! It looks like who ever designed these measured the outside diameter of the bushing hole, not the inside. I just bought a set for my sedan. I'm pissed with you. I will have to put them on a lathe and whittle them down just a bit. Quote Link to comment
Pedro
You sure they aren't crossmember bushes for the rear cradle? Edited October 21, 2008 by Pedro Quote Link to comment
zerow
You sure they aren't crossmember bushes for the rear cradle? The rear cradle/crossmember ones are almost 2 1/2 inches (63 mm) across. These are smaller, (but apparently) the incorrect size. They were bought from a reputable parts source here stateside, and the advertising is for the 510/610/ Z Cars. Strange. Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
You sure they aren't cross member bushes for the rear cradle? No I have the ones you speak of and they are completely different. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I think that particular 1200 would be offended by you calling it a 1200... Not according to the owner of it... ;) Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
They were bought from a reputable parts source here stateside, and the advertising is for the 510/610/ Z Cars. Strange. This is a common problem in the 510 world. There are two different size bushings, and not a lot of rhyme or reason as to which car has which... :( Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
Well I found the problem, their for R180/R200 mustache bars. Not R160. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
That makes sense if they are listed as fitting a Z... Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
But it doesn't since their listed as fitting a 510/610 as well. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Lost in translation...... Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
Haha yeah it's kinda wishywashy but what happened is the bushings are labeled for 510/610/240Z/260Z/280Z when in fact they only work on 240Z/260Z/280Z Quote Link to comment
bonvo
what bushings im confused the ones you were changing and had the rear end up in the air? Quote Link to comment

Guest jaimesix
Crazy people. This car in the UK would sell fine.UK Datsun fans are very appreciative of Datsun 610s ( 180Bs/ Bluebird-Us) Either ship it to UK, or sell it for less. Show it around, Camby, JCCS, etc, there is always the right customer for the right deal, but you got to go out to find that customer. I would buy it if money were no object. I am sure there is someonme that has the money, but has no knowledge of this vehicle. This car owner should try selling it on e/bay or another auction site or location. Some marketing knowledge is needed. Jaime.________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
maybe after the owner drops the price in half I don't knw about "in half", but I definitely think it's overpriced. If it's clean, relatively rust free, and were $6-7K I'd be interested... But for $10K I can buy a RHD J-spec 510, and for a bit more a Bluebird Coupe or 4dr C10 Skyline. Quote Link to comment

fisch
That is the hottness! Someone should call them and ask if they still have it! Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
How the hell, in 1978 could you spend $15,000 on building a 610??? I think I could build that for $15K today... Quote Link to comment
