I found a receiver for a Mossy 500 which makes it feed from Saiga 12 magazines... then had to buy a Mossy 500.  I'm debating whether I want to tackle the install myself or pay a gunsmith. I guess I'll check out the You Tubes and see if there is a video... sort of thing.

The Mossberg takes down to a bare receiver, I would think its a take guts out of one and put them into another.

There are quite a few bits which swap over from one bolt to the other.  Watching the video, which has no sound making it somewhat difficult to follow along, I was worried.  But I just grokked the new bolt in the new receiver and I think I can handle it.  Besides, what's the worst that can happen?

You have to pay a gunsmith to put it together anyway

What are you, Mossberg and/or Black Aces' lawyer?  I acknowledge that I SHOULD have a gunsmith do it, but I never claimed to be the sharpest bulb in the... wait, how does that go?

The NRA   Store site sells the Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun takedown and reassembly instruction books in their reprints of the dissasembly and repair pages of the American Rifleman magazine.  Periodically updated to include current arms.   Illustrations of the arm as broken down, ID of pieces and a verbal description of the retailed dissasembly and reassembly including cautions re spring pressure etc.  Give it a try.

Good to know.  Of that I will make out-checking.
