DISLEXICDIME
Ok heres another part of the "surprise" mod....... Cost a whopping $3 at a metal yard :D this reminds me of when i chained down the rear end of my 68 caprice when i putt switch's on it Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Made a big purchase today. Got my 5/8 chrome-moly heavy duty heim joints. Now i can make the bottom bars Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
is doing it that way easier or cheaper than buying a 4 link from suicide doors? Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
I dont know how much a 4 link from SD costs but id guess it cost more than the way im doing mine. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
dwnshftr, You can build it almost for free if you know what you are doing, but you still have to know quite a bit to install that 4-link kit. Babysteps ;) Quote Link to comment
datrod
Hey Mark, If you ever want to do a 4 link and bag a goon you can use mine for your mock up. Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Ok..got the wheel wells trimmed out. Still have a bit more to cut out..the tires will go up another inch when i do... check the mud flap...it used to barely touch the ground & now it'll probably shorten itself in time... picture the rim 1 inch higher up in this pic... bought some grd. 8 bolts & spacers for the heims today too instead of washers...will be very strong  Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Turning out nice. Will your frame be touchin earth? :D Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
im not installing it, a buddy is in his garage, thats the reason for wanting to do it on the cheap. Quote Link to comment

Cuts metal like mad
If you make your own, you make the bars fit the truck, if you buy a set you make your truck fit the bars... OR you modify a $250+ set of bars... Quote Link to comment

OR you modify a $250+ set of bars... Well said. I can get DOM round tubing for roughly $8 a foot. I probably paid too much for the heims & bungs but i wanted the strongest part possible & was tired of driving around town looking for them. Got em from a local buggy shop..if they only knew they were goin on a 620 ;) Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
well i want to do bags on bars, is that still possible when you make your own? if not, i might make my own anyway......seems to save an assload of money..... Quote Link to comment
kaoss
I made my own for my mazda, and they were bag on bars. SSD.com will build custom length bars, so there goes the entire build the truck to the bars. I used the round bar ends of SSD.COM that came with the bushings. They where non-adjustable square lowers. They sell what you need to make adjustable bars also, or you could tap the round bar to accept the adjustable ends. Keep up the good work PCD. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Kaoss i know SD.com makes some good products but fo rme..i like to build it all from scratch. Plus im not in a hurry. Heres a quick pic of HALF of the "other" mod i planned to do while the 620 was down.... Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
Mmmmm, more pics please! these are tasty!:P Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
I may add gussets to the notches as a precaution. & TY guys i think the mud flaps wont last long :D Side tile is deff. an old school mod which makes sense cause im old..haha Quote Link to comment
73dat
now I think I know where you going with that project............:D Quote Link to comment
1lo620
Now lets talk old school..I know that I am older than you...And, yes the tilt beds where real big back in the days....I really like all the work that you have done to your truck... My MAzda circa 1992.... Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
dood, i effin love those wheels! Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
Gonna be RAD :D. My brother did a side tilt on his 620 back in 1987... He used a 12v tire pump and a air shock, LOL, it as slow but worked. The wheels sure look better tuckin. Ssd might make custom length bars but you pay way more than building them, you'd probably save time making them youself as well... Ssd isn't gonna put rush on them Quote Link to comment
