Pacific coast Datsun
it is gonna be cool. I was just hoping it was gonna be some Ratsun tail that comes out the back of the truck and drags and makes sparks. :D Trust me the steel welded to the frame will be a good spark provider:D Got a few more parts welded in. One of the other bag mounts & a brace. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Well after a few tests & changing the chain up a bit i found out im not getting enough lift. I decided to go with a more conventional bag placement so i can drive it this summer. Ill be bustin ass on it tomorrow & should have pix up then. Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Kicked ass today. Got the old lower bag mounts cut off the old metal & ready to use again, cut off the bars i welded on, & got both upper & lower mounts welded in. Did a few test runs & im getting about 5 inches of lift which gets the frame about 3 inches off the ground. lower mounts in place... laid out.... aired up, but not all the way... & i may have to shorten the mud flaps  Quote Link to comment
dat521kid
does that mean its ready? Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
They make tripple stack bags you can buy that will give you more lift. :D Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Robert- not totally ready yet. Have the other side to do then make the wishbone. Carlos- ya ive seen those but i need to work with what i have...$$ is tight. Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
More baby steps today. Got both lower mounts fully welded in & the axle centered so the wishbone can be made. Took another laid out pic  Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
TY for the love :D Got the new [used] brake booster on this morning. & as i found out this one is 1 inch bigger in diameter & it barely clears the carb filter & clutch master... I polished the alluminum then clear coated it so hopefully it stays shiny for a long time. Llittle_Llama
TY for the love :D Got the new [used] brake booster on this morning. & as i found out this one is 1 inch bigger in diameter & it barely clears the carb filter & clutch master... I polished the alluminum then clear coated it so hopefully it stays shiny for a long time. BASTARD!!!!!! I'm doing that with mine too, I started yesterday with my NOS one after I found my dremel. Every time I think about doing something you do the same thing without me ever posting it, lol. I had no plans of clear coating it afterwards, but that DOES make sense. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
DWN.- the booster came off a 76 so somewhere between 74 & 76 the boosters got bigger. And yeah i didnt want to go back & polish the master later so clear was the answer. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Not much to report but here goes. Got the rest of the un-needed bars cut off, heim joint brackets welded to the axle, upper & lower bag mounts welded in & 1 part of the wishbone partially made... the bar will run under the other, ill have to "notch" it for clearence. More delays..oh boy ... Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
couldn't you get more lift by making the bag mounts closer together? (thereby "squishing" them more when laid out... in the pics, it looks like you could easily get another inch to inch-n-half more "squish" with weight on it.) Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
^^ you are correct i could. The way it is now im getting about 5 inches of lift which puts the frame 3 1/2 inches off the ground at the back of the cab. For me thats plenty enough to get out of my driveway;) I just wanna drive the beast, last year it sat WAY too long undriven. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ok today i got the other cut done for the wishbone......... & tilted the bed a bit to check for clearence issues... & got the tops of the bags painted, my daughter wire brushed them for me :D Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
hey thats cool, was mostly just wondering... I have never built my own air setup YET, but have studied them for almost 10 years, and I've designed my own "revolver" style 4link that I'd like to build someday. I finally got my welder this year so hopefully that someday will be sooner than later. I love watching your progress though, its inspiring! :D Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
looking good mark!! once i get some checks rollin in im gonna be doin the same thing to the kingcab! keep it up!! Quote Link to comment
