datsunfreak
Okay, I am noticing this happening more and more lately and I'm about to choke some fools... No. Wrong. Those are "fender flares", or "flared fenders". Not a "widebody". Widebody means you widen the body. Not just add flares. Stop it.. Widebody: Flares: Installing fender flares does not make your car a widebody, you jackwagon... 12 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Widebody sucks dicks. If you can't compete with your tires under the fenders or with flairs then move onto another make of car. I mean who would notice you changed cars it you painted it the same colors anyway? WTF is this thing anyway? Bozoko? No longer recognizable. Has to have NISSAN on the front for fans to know. 1 Quote Link to comment

240zness
Maybe since his flares change the foot print of the floor, they go all the way to the ground, technically wider Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When you can't tell what it is, you've gone way too far. Reminds me of NASCAR. Do anything on those 'things' have a GM, Ford or whatever? part number on them? Oh, the windshield and the door handles are Skyline? Did not know that. 1 Quote Link to comment

The skyline is a jtcc car, they’re built from stock street cars. The chassis, doors, etc are all nissan. Windscreen is lexan for safety. Engine is same but modified for race spec. 1 Quote Link to comment

shacks510
People always use the wrong terminology for things. Calling a single cast iron exhaust manifold “headers” for example. There are some “correct” terms for things, but are words I don’t like to use, like subframe. People like to use buzzwords because they sound cool, or just don’t know any better, which is usually the case. 1 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
I'd give my left nut to drive that Gr.5 Silhouette DR30...... Have seen that car pound R34s on track, not to mention the FLAMES it belches entering a corner. 2 Quote Link to comment

Or are you saying that if it's cast it's not a header? I disagree. Is one of these less of a header? Subframe is less than a 'full frame' or perhaps 'under frame' either way I know exactly what is meant. So what is the correct term for 'subframe'? I may have heard of it too. . 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Whats a "bespoke" ? Another name for modified / cut up bbq lids ? 1 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
I would say the cast exhaust for the L16 or L20B is very much just like a header but in a better way it fits perfectly with out having to beat and mash anything to fit. I have never had a header for any of my 510’s but have been tempted to buy one in the past . But being able to read more info hear over time I’m sticking with the original because it works just fine. 2 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
If this is post a widebody This is Ratsun, so it will be soon... Maybe since his flares change the foot print of the floor, they go all the way to the ground, technically wider Yes, his fender lips are wider, as in flared. The car's body is not wider. People always use the wrong terminology for things. There are some “correct” terms for things, but are words I don’t like to use, like subframe. One that is currently killing me is ads for 510s for sale that say "frame off resto" or "frame up resto". A 510 does not have a frame. Also, stop calling it a "restoration' if it has an SR and 17" wheels you idiot... Am i the only one that upon seeing thread name ,, thought he would be seeing a link to his build thread ?? I'm going to need you to explain this joke I think... How about people that call a single header "headers?" Header. One. Worse yet, I have seen this multiple times "Oh, it's an SR20DET with SR20VE heads". Whats a "bespoke" ? Another name for modified / cut up bbq lids ? British term for "custom made" or "one of a kind". 1 Quote Link to comment

Or are you saying that if it's cast it's not a header? I disagree. Is one of these less of a header? Internal design similar to a header? Sure. But I wouldn’t call a cast iron exhaust manifold a header. Construction from individual steel tubes is what I consider a header. Quote Link to comment

A header is something that is a performance improvement over the restrictive stock exhaust. I'll still call the L16/18 a cast iron header. Quote Link to comment
