Eyes are everywhere, 2.5 million miles refines your senses, you have to know when and where you can do what, 9 out of 10 cars that pass me are drivers texting or talking on the phone, before that it was drivers on a laptop, reading a book, news paper, drunk, etc, etc, distracted driving hasn't changed, it just got easier to do.

Skill can only take you so far, and luck........... always runs out.

A couple of days after my Wife had 39 years in,

she was told that her job wasn't needed. She work(ed) in IT dept.,

at the local hospital.A number of people were "let go".

A company called Provident "merged" with them.

Still dealing with the shock of the situation.

Before I joined the Navy to help pay my way in school, I worked as a roofer. I bet even today the only roofer in the states that makes 73k is the boss of a very large company.

You forgot it's in AUS, it's about $55k usd

Sorry to hear this. Carry a new light to this change. Any big adjustment can either set you back, or forward. Make sure she's ready to stand up as soon as her next wave peaks.

Thanks for the support! At least she'll get a severance.

She told me that when she went & cleaned out her desk, that she

didn't take the stapler.

              I asked her "It wasn't Milton's,was it?".

EMTs don't make a lot. Paramedics make better. EMT does start around 30k, which is $15/hour

It is  crime that those who give so much, earn so little.

I swear that upper management sits down each month and sifts through the employee roster, looking for workers who are nearing retirement to cut from the herd.

Makes the bottom line look way better when the company isn't burdened with those pesky pensions to pay out every month.

Getting laid off is such a bummer. Cant stand it when bosses say "hey great news! The company is looking to merge with #1 Cocksucker Inc. ! Now, while we are fucking you up the ass, you're gonna be blowing the new guys!" yeah great news.

There, fixed.
