One thing he is forgetting,Crocs do not sit on the surface much at all if in open water or in a river (when resting on a bank of a river is it's only time it'd do so) Saltwater crocs have very tough hide and skin layers to get through also. 2 Link to comment

They are several layers deep and on a continuous conveyor belt moving new teeth forward as the old ones fall out or are lost.
