JoeCool
Did a tune up on the wife's car today. Motorcraft plugs and wires, 2006 Ford Taurus with the OHV 3.0 V6. Had over 100,000 miles, MIL light on, misfire codes. Unsure if previous owner had done a tune up or not, by the looks of the plugs... NOPE. It was one of the most difficult tune-ups I ever did. Front three plugs and wires were OK but oil dipstick and AC line in the way, but the back three... WTF?! Pain in the ass! It is recommended by Ford to remove the intake plenum, didn't feel like disconnecting all the hoses and sensors, and couldn't find my 8mm deep 1/4 socket. So I just went by feel stretching my arm like plasticman. Used a 3" extension on some plugs, a 6" on others, and a flex on one. Got it done after about two hours of cussing! SHEESH! I did my 720 truck's plugs, wires, AND cap, rotor, and coil in 20 minutes! I love working on older cars! 2 Quote Link to comment
smoke
"Some" older cars that is. I had one where I drilled a hole in the inner fender to get to one of the plugs. 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The '71 BOSS 429 Mustang is this way too. Friend couldn't change all the rear plugs and sold it with 4 of the original plugs still in it. 1 Quote Link to comment

THIS, was the car. Still can't believe I hole sawed it. Well, mine was a 70, but can't imagine much difference. 1 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
I think you two are confusing the Boss with the Cobra Jet which are the impossible ones. 71s are a tiny bit bigger so getting at the plugs is a tiny bit less impossible. 1 Quote Link to comment
smoke
Can't speak for Mike, but no, I remember it very clearly due to the fact that if I sold that car today, I would not have to work again. I have made some horrid financial moves in my life, but that car is at the very top of my list. I think you may be right about the plug thing though, I did have one with an FE. Now that you mention it, it seems like that may have been the drilled one. 1 Quote Link to comment

A lot of them you need to remove the cowl to get the intake out. Since so many are showing things they have been doing for themselves...I'm gonna go ahead and leave this here... Stayed late at work last night to do this for myself. 14x7 Baby Supras. 175/65R14. Fitment is better than I thought it could be. Been stashing a lot of pics for an upcoming thread. Just way too giddy about these. 3 Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
Haven't touched 'em. Found them at a local JY. Hit them with a pressure washer. Mounted. Balanced. Enjoy. All 4 wheels came out really good on the balancer too. Only one need more than 2 oz. of weight total. Good score for $100. 2 Quote Link to comment
