SR20DETdatsun510 Posted October 6, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 Not a "Progress" update but a "Come-Up" update.Picked up a set of 14x8 SSR Super Star III's.They were a good deal so I could not pass them up! :thumbup:Was concerned at first about their authenticity because they have no "MADE IN JAPAN" or "SPEED STAR" markings other than the caps.So I emailed SSR and one of their specialists contacted me and explained that they were indeed authentic SSR's.They were first released in 1986 and had only a 2 year run. He said they are one of SSR's rarest wheels. :w00t:(Longchamps not even making the list)They had 2 versions; A one piece version and a 3 piece version. Then they changed the lip design on the 3 piece and then stopped production. I have the earlier model 3 piece with a rounded inner stepped lip.What do you think? Too devil worshipy? Just so many things going on at once. I have most of the parts so it is just a question of time. I just don't have allot of it to spare these days. I am still doing minor things but nothing that takes me hours to do. But to sate you all (and myself) Here is a small update. Not a mechanical update but an update with oics none the less... :laughing: Got these for a steal. They are Vintage NOS SEV Marchal Fogs. They are made in France but the Japanese have coveted them for decades. So if you look at vintage JDM builds with yellow fogs, most likely they are Marchals. Ferrari also uses them. These are slightly smaller than the OEM bulbs so I had to have a friend Laser cut some big SS retaining washers to keep them in the OEM retaining Rings. 1 Quote Link to comment
