SR20DETdatsun510
It's been quite a while since any real Updates... Sorry, this isn't one of them. I was just messing with my Longchamps and wondering what Lugs I should use. I have some Volk lugs with the black cap and some Project Kics Lugs in Neo Chrome. The volks are Longer and the Kics are shorter. At least I am posting a few pics B) Quote Link to comment
aintnobiscuit
I vote the top pair, although i do like them both. Where are you at with your baby? it's been a little while. What else do you have to do prior to driving? Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
I've got a long list of little things to do and a short list of big things to do. On the Short list: I need to Have a Cold Pipe fab'ed. That requires me to trailer it to the shop that is going to do it. I don't have a trailer so this is going to be a headache. I have to wire up the engine bay. Find out where all the vacuum lines go, hook up my Elec. Boost Controller, wire up my sub harness (Headlights, turn signals, etc), Wire up the dual fan controller (had a thermal couple and I want to see if I can convert it into a sensor that goes into the coolant stream), Finish my fuel system (what I'm working on now) Intall z32 MAF And a few more things. THEN after all of that, I need to tune it. That is going to be over 1k right there o_O Quote Link to comment
aintnobiscuit
Yep. I'm stuck at the moment for now as well. There were some areas I rushed on that I want to go back and re-do now. I'm going with a larger t3 and swapping the radiator/intercooler out for something else that actually fits amongst other things. 1 Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
So a little progress this weekend. Got the Fuel Lines plumbed for the Engine Bay. Mounted the FPR and built the -AN Braided Hoses. Had to remove my Right side suspension to access the wheel well to drill holes for the FPR. But the Feed and Return are now plumbed into the hard lines. Was a pain but the end result makes it all feel better  Some Pics: I also mounted my Blitz EBC (Electronic Boost Controller) and my Right side (I know pic is of Left side) Texalium Carbon Fiber Sill Plates. So Schnazzy! LOL 4 Quote Link to comment

SR20DETdatsun510
So went to hook up some wiring to my started and didn't even get to snug down the nut when it stripped. Damn it. Looked into re-building it or having it rebuilt and it's a hassle. I can buy a new KA24 one and swap out the motor and solenoid for $165 from O'Reilly's but I just negotiated for a Mishimoto Starter for an SR20 for $154. No headache and swapping. I know I could have gotten a core charge back but I am going to keep the old one for spare parts. Ugg, always something... Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
Also had to figure out how to get the SS Braided Hose to attach to the Fuel Rail Barb effectively. So I had to remove my Greddy intake to get at the fuel rail to take it off. I have to cut the little bulge on the 5/16" hard line to fit a fitting onto. I ordered some Earls Compression fittings to do the job and learned afterwards that they only handle up to 50psi MAX. Damn! So a friend help to locate the right fitting for my EFI application. These should be able to handle up to 200psi. Quote Link to comment

SR20DETdatsun510
Well, turned out that the Earls Compression fittings AND the Russells Push on EFI firttings do not work. Now I have to go throught the hassle of returning them; of course minus the Handling charge. Fuuuuu I would love to go with an aftermarket Fuel rail but don't want to find out it doesn't fit with my Greddy Plenum in the way.I am just going to have a -6 fitting welded to the fuel rail. Fuck it... It will work nicely. While I have the fuel rail out tho, I am going to clean it up and paint it. What color should I paint it? I am thinking Black but have the option of Gold or Blue too. 1 Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
On a lighter, cooler note; Andrey Pridybaylo finished Beasting up my 510. Take a look... Does the upper plenum really consume that much space? It seems like such a bummer to have a fuel system so well put together, only to have it end up at a factory rail. I should also mention that for whatever reason, the alloy that the rail is made out of burns away like a mother fucker when you're trying to weld it. Also; that illustration turned out amazing. 1 Quote Link to comment
aintnobiscuit
thats an absolutely epic picture.... although i still like the engine bay porn more... but i think that's because i know what its going to do. What do you mean by the "Alloy"? It feels/looks like the rail tubing is made out of extruded steel. thats an absolutely epic picture.... although i still like the engine bay porn more... but i think that's because i know what its going to do. SR20DETdatsun510
If you had an S14, I was wondering how you were going to deal with the Fuel Rail. But the S13 Fuel rail is so accessible so no problems for you! Quote Link to comment
