Those black chrome would look tits on the 1200 and you could go moar lowar *hinthint*

Oddly, 13s would probably mean running the car higher, not lower.

The only "good" size tire for 13s would be a 185/60-13, which is actually about 6mm taller than my current tires.

I could use a 175/50-13, but those are seriously like rubber bands...

Finally shortened the lower hose, came out nice...

After...

Since I've been wheel flip flopping, I decided to grab my 13x7 Cragars with a 185/60-13 on them for a look see...

Yeah, way too tall for me...

So I'm gonna say fuck it and stick with what I have for now. Definitely will keep my current tires (165/55-14), but may change wheels later. But will hold off until the car is finished and on the road...  B)

I like the look of those cragers. Are they 2 peice or are the bolts just for show? I was looking for something like that before I sold out and went with the dyna lites (blah mesh :( ).

Both.

Two piece, but welded together at the factory. So you can take the bolts out and they'd be fine...

In fact, the face of the wheel is a chrome "cap", so I think if you took the bolts out the cap would come off. Always wanted to try that and see what they look like underneath...  ^_^

Decent looking wheel but unfortunately the chrome is no bueno.

Same here. Two look good, one looks decent, one looks like absolute shit.

My plan (if I ever use them) is to knock out the bolts, have them blasted and powdercoated a shiny silver, then put in new gold cad bolts. Something like this...

Only reason I hold onto them is they are about a -50 offset with at least 4" of lip...  B)

  • 2 weeks later...

Wanted to see how much having the engine/trans in the car dropped the front end. Only dropped it about 1/4".

After I get the rear suspension sorted out (probably next week's project), we'll roll it outside and push it around a bit and see if the front settles any more. The coilovers have room to be screwed down about 1.5" more before it compromises the suspension travel.

This is one of those tiny things that somehow wasted two hours. Building things from scratch is fun, but hell of time consuming...

Made a mount for the throttle cable. Works like a charm. After we modified it three times.

Think I'm going to bail on the Miata seats. Even with the rails completely removed, they are too damn tall for me. Never gonna be satisfied with that, so I'm going to get rid of them and order one of these...

They are crazy light, can be mounted very low, and the blue on the sides matches my door panels perfectly.  B)

Another Kirkey I'm looking at...

Very comfy, and very inexpensive. And again, the blue is a good match, so...

That is the one which gets my vote.  Too bad the covers done come in pink... I mean "Light Red"!

I think that's what we'll try. Just trying to decide between the 10deg layback or the 20deg...

Get the red ones and leave them out in the sun for a few weeks...    ^_^

Indeed. Any upholstery shop worth it's salt should be able to replicate the cover in any color you fancy.   B)

If we're doing that we'll just re-cover the Cobra Clubmans in the Chickenhawk... which I seem to remember us discussing at one time.

Hey, I like that last one. My fat looks like it might actually fit in it...

They make most of their seats in many sizes. I believe that seat comes in a 14.5", 15.5", 17.5", and 20" widths. I'm going to get the 17.5" and see how it goes.

I've sat in the 20" before. It's huge. And I ain't small, so...

That looks nice, but also looks DAMN hard to get into in a 1200 :)

Another Kirkey I'm sort of looking at...

Very comfy, and very inexpensive. And the blue is a good match as well...

But also doesn't look like much thigh support...
