Bob3 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Share Posted August 11, 2015 We had a great time in the Optima Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car. Unfortunately the MX520 lost it's clutch during the autocross (the first event) and I nursed it through the remainder of the competition. It was so much fun that I have decided to go to the last qualifying event at Auto Club Speedway in California October 10th & 11th to try and qualify for the final at the SEMA show in November. I have a list of changes to make to the little Datsun before then. Of course I will post the progress pics here for all to see! Here are a few pics from the weekend. 11 Quote Link to comment

Bob3 Posted September 12, 2015 Author Report Share Posted September 12, 2015 I'm getting ready for the next round of "Optima Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car" at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA on October 10 & 11. I lost the clutch at our track in Colorado. I am removing the 7 pound aluminum flywheel and switching to a 11.5 pound steel. This should help with the hard starts during the autocross and speed stop competitions. I am finally putting a stainless steel header on it (I put a stock Miata header on it to get it running back in 2009 and never changed it) and switching to a 6 speed transmission.
