angliagt Posted July 12, 2020 Report Share Posted July 12, 2020 That reminded of a story in Andy Granetelli's book "They Call Me Mr. 500" of when he was promoting stock car races at Chicago's Soldier Field. They'd have a driver stage an accident,& then have an ambulance with a dummy filled with ketchup "rescue" him.They'd put the racer in the ambulance next to the dummy.Then they'd have the ambulance door fall open,dropping the dummy on the stretcher on the track. The crowd would start screaming,so the ambulance driver would stop, back up,& run over the dummy on the stretcher,& then run over it again while driving forward. He said that they had a bunch of fans in the stands pass out while seeing all this happen. Hey - I thought it was a funny story. Quote Link to comment
