He shot a coat of black paint on the heater core and when it was "dry" we installed it.

We also dipped the tow/tie-down eyes in red rubber... they look really nice too.

I like it, but I don't think Tim does. So probably another $12 on the wall of shame...

I think they might be a tad too big is the thing.  I'm afraid they are going to roll off the edge of the spoke.  But I'm willing to give it a try.

Can you post another shot of the hole car?  I can't find the one from earlier in you post.

The problem there is a) the trash and junk surrounding the car and 2) the fact that it has no doors or glass.  It's kind of a) embarrassing to show our pig sty of a shop and 2) not much to look at as she sits.  I will endeavor to have John shoot a picture of the car on Wednesday though... and I'll try to remember to take one for my instant grams.

Get Richard Rawlins to come over and give your shop a makeover.

We will likely be rolling it out for cleaning in preparation for painting the outside fairly soon, so there will be more photos taken at that time.

cool thanks, I was telling my son about it and he wanted to see pictures of it.  He is 9 but super into cars, he is always asking me if he can help turn wrenches and take tires on and off which is awesome.  We talk about building cars all the time, lifted trucks, race cars, rally cars, baja bugs and we even have a on going discussion about building a morgan 3 wheeler.

I really like the way it looks, can't wait to see it finished

Got a good amount done on wiring. Engine bay wiring routed, and will probably be terminated next time...

Alsot, we were able to get all the wires and the battery cable through the frame rail pass-through we made earlier. 👍

I'm quite pleased with the pass through... except it locks that part of the harness to the car forever once we terminate the wires.  I don't know.  We'll see.

is this a stock zseries? forgive me if I missed the page where you talk about the motor, if there is one I didn't see it... looking good dig the snorkel and por15 floors makes me happy for some reason.

I rebuilt it... sheesh, has it been twenty years ago?  Anyhoo, I'm sure it has 0.040" over pistons (that's my "go to" but I can not remember, to be honest), the head was decked (a wee bit) and trued, new (20 years and maybe a couple thousand miles ago) valves, seats, and seals, and that's about it... oh yeah, then there's the monster friggin' rumpety assed cam!  I ran a 38/38 synchronous Weber before and I think that is what we bought this time too (that old carb went away with the other monster friggin' rumpety assed cam I sold because "I'm never going to build another NAPS-Z" 🙄).  Finally, there's the header that I hand built from scratch... except for the collector, which I did modify quite a bit though.  I never had it on a reliable dyno, but the "Butt Dyno" said it was making at least a fragillion and a half horsepressure!

haha awesome im sure it'll really make that tiny car scoot... one day.. haha

Yeah,it really did.  I had a guy following me once who said it didn't so much accelerate, as it would "squirt" up to speed.  It would leap forward, appear to "stop" as I shifted gears, then leap forward again, and so on.  I miss it.

We didn't terminate under the hood, but while looking at it I came up with a wacky idea for mounting the coil...

Ok, full disclosure here.  I only posted this to quote John so he will be reminded to post what we DID accomplish today.

Got the inside harness routed where it needs to go and clamped down.

Also mounted the fuel cell base, the battery box, and the fuel pump. 👍

Next time hoping we can finish up the switch box on the floor, and terminate everything under the hood.
