I've never started a motor without water in it.

You are so fucking paranoid about not having water in it... You are only going to see if it fires up on it's own,, not warm it up or anything .. You have an attached garage and running it for more than 15 seconds is probably going to kill you and your neighbors with carbon monoxide poisoning,,   faster than your engine .

 

Don't forget that i didn't put screw in the speedo gear when i put it in there..

I start engines all the time without water in them, but I don't normally run them for more than a couple minutes at idle or just above idle.

I think it is Eric with the drag truck that filled his block water jacket with cement all the way to the top, he don't even have water in that block and he races quarter miles with it, but that is not a engine that drives down the hiway for hours and hours either.

If really worried, why not put coolant (or at least distilled/demineralized water) and a looped hose?

I didn't weld it yet,  but if i wasn't sitting around in my underwear, i probably could............ Wife's going shopping at some point so can't go anywhere away from here unless we take Thing 1 and Thing 2

Wish I had my old coil.

Only have a old stock 521 coil. That will not work right? ... yes this is my old one but doesn't it have to be a coil for a internally regulated.

I had that issue, Kev, check the connections to the coil.....I had one come loose and that's what happened.

There is only two wires on my coil.

One that has power. And the other is the negative from my tech.

So to me it would seem coil.. but it's new.

Or. Something idk yet.

I don't know why I thought I needed a 240sx coil..

But WTF did I do with the coil I had for my matchbox. Up there I said ir alt. But I ment matchbox.

Also don't have the clip on the coil.

I'm thinking I need to go to a junk yard and find a Ka-e in a hardbody and take its coil so that I have everything I need.

Try running that wire that is supposed to be hot while cranking directly to battery B+ with a jumper wire in your hand  just for the test.

 

Don't remember which one but it was labeled in the instructions that way.

I did, I put both wires that were needed to go to the ignition switch on the same post that goes to my starter.
