'70dime
I know they're not the style you're lookin for but what about OE Z32 wheels? or are they just the complete wrong offset? Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
are your struts 5 lug or 6 ? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
.... aren't those brakes, well.... over kill? Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
Z32 and s14 wheels would clear, but its not what im looking for. I want something close to the same offset as my final set so I can make the body panels im thinking of molding. The struts? Well my hubs are 5 lug. Nah, they are old 4 pots, so the design is bulky. I would say just the right size for the track, as stock 240s are prone to brake-fade. If I ever start to make more money to keep me from being broke.ill upgrade to some willwoods. With the next engine going in this thing I may need some 6pot down the line. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
my fan came in form a 2 back order. 3300CFM. and i want to get another. ran some fuel lines. other than that this transmission adapter kit is kicking my ass and i need to get it done so i can drop the engine in and get the exhaust fabbed up. Wheels will be in next wek then ill take it to get some brake lines made. after that its the cab and wiring. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
This is the last time i buy a "KIT" for something like this. none of the measurements really panned out for this adapter plate. my flywheel bolts are at the min amount of thread engagement,my input shaft only have about 3/4 of the splines through the clutch disk. and the flywheel that should have worked was shit. the ring gear didnt even come close to the starter so you had to stack the flexplate behind the thing. waste of money, but i got it working somehow. anyways. engine is back in, and ill start to fab the exhaust up soon. i was waiting to see what my room would be like for an "X" section and what mufflers i would have to go with. wheels will be here Tuesday, so ill probably roll it down the street to get some brake lines put on it Thursday. i need to start cutting up the cab so it will fit over all this. 3 Quote Link to comment
Jester
Looks bad ass sitting there. You should throw some rollers on it. 1 Quote Link to comment
finney
nice! making me wish my earth shattering J13 wasn't getting rebuild whilst my 1uz with IBT is sitting around the car port 1 Quote Link to comment

Cpl620
Looks bad ass sitting there. You should throw some rollers on it. Heres your rollers jester. nice! making me wish my earth shattering J13 wasn't getting rebuild whilst my 1uz with IBT is sitting around the car port Im sure what ever you put that thing in will be badass. your current one seems like a low and slow, you need something to rip up the track with for that UZ. ONWARD! So we have touchdown! it rolls! I was running around all day shipping stuff for some more money, picking these things up and then getting some tires and new rubber to put between the cab and frame. I started to cut away at the cab to get it ready to put on. the exhaust will be done tomorrow providing the local shop has the parts i need to fab it up, if not we will be put on hold to wait for the eBay. i may just put the cab on anyways so i can take this thing to get brakes put in and just put this hoe on a lift when i go to do my exhaust. LAST. not my fave choice on the wheels, but they have a fair offset and fit my suspension and size requirements. 255/40/17 all the way around. A/S tires as it may be bad weather this coming winter for the west coast. shes sitting high, ride height will be about 3-4 inches lower. 3 Quote Link to comment
heretic
holy shit it just keeps getting better & better. I cant wait to see that cab set down on the chassis. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
Edit: i was just thinking, ill do a proper fix with some A1 coil-overs later on, i know they are a lot shorter and would be easy to fab to fit.OK, so i had to get ghetto on this thing. SOME HOW, the only measurements i was not able to take and had to wing, came out 4" short. not only are the front towers short, but the rear ones are as well, by the same amount. dont know how i did it, but it was kind of a blessing in disguise. If i had raised the towers, then my connecting point would dive straight through the hood hinge and be pretty close to the windshield which i didnt want. so i guess i lucked out a bit, but then again its going to show the green horn fab skills in full swing. Sure i could fix it the right way, but i just painted the frame, so screw it. for the tower extenders ill box them in and it will look just a bit odd, or maybe ill just brace them and look strange when i pop the hood. anyways, fully dropped suspension will get my an inch from the ground...not good enough? well my oil pan hits the ground, so we cant go any further anyways. hahahaha. so this is before, freak out point, 7" high and fully dropped suspension though that suspension geometry is on point!...and this is the corrections and adjustments. the spacers will be a 4" drop and boxed in to look like part of the original design....would be fucked at 4 inches.= 1.5 inches of clearance. 8 Quote Link to comment
INDY510
Such an awesome build ... . you've had my attention for months .... :ninja:Why do you need to raise the strut towers?? ... Is there any way to use shorter struts? .... even 2" shorter struts might help 2 Quote Link to comment

I edited the last post, ill be getting a different coil-over from A-1 or QA1 i forget who it is, but Ive seen some pretty small coil-overs that ill fab the right top hats to. for now though, ill make this work. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jester
This is the baddest F#KN pic I have seen on Ratsun in a while. Great project and the progress is always impressive. Looking Good   4 Quote Link to comment
'70dime
I wasn't hard on those wheels when you first showed them but with the cab on they look so much better. I'm excited to see what they look like with fenders and a bed. Bummer about the towers but really excited to see progress. 2 Quote Link to comment
Mirrorimg
I see 2.5" before those coils bottom out! Looking good 1 Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
Not much done today, I got pretty burnt out cleaning and replacing a CV boot........... ................ .......... yeah, so no updates until sunday after this.painted the axles and diff. started to mock up the rear tower connection. i need to get that in so i can mount my pedals and steering column. after that's in place i can go crazy with the exhaust. The vision is all coming together now....i was thinking of mounting the dash bar/rear tower bar a bit higher, but i figured it would be cool to have it hitting the engine in case of a front end collision. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
Not much going on, had to take a few days off. Got my seat in today and tried to mount the steering column. I shortened it about 5", but the housing around it is too bulky for my to mount the pedals in the proper location below it. Ill have to get rid of the housing and just run the shaft and bearings, or run it above the dash bar but i dont think thats going to work.My major problem is positioning the steering shaft so its not right under my exhaust port on the head, i have maybe a few inches of clearance. ill have to redo the manifold, but i have the be cautious of this placement or i wont have enough room to to fit anything. onwards~!People tell me they want my fabrication skills, I cringe at that thought... 1 Quote Link to comment
finney
are you just running the log headers? Quote Link to comment
