Cpl620
awesome advice, thanks!well i got some more stuff in, nothing big other than that. I have to say, im pretty impressed with the quality and of this ARC panel system, and everything that comes in the package. tacked up the main parts of the exhaust. just need to weld it all and make brackets. ill try to put the bed on tomorrow, but we'll see since this storm is hitting right now. ill be pulling her out for a show on saturday...school is out too, so once i get done with some quick cash work and this storm is over, this thing is going to be running. expect fire up before the end of the month! 3 Quote Link to comment

Cpl620
alright, so i wasted a day trying to make the tunnel all round and pretty like. then said fuck it and embraced the geometry. fuck you "π"then i got lazy from how i usually am with lifting and moving both the welder and bottle, so i cut up my harbor freight tool cart and yeah... turned out pretty sweet actually.tacked up most of the trans tunnel and fire wall. but i mocked up the rest of the cuts with card board for a quick finish tomorrow. i really didnt want to pull the engine and trans again, but i need to to finish this and run the seam filler. fml. 3 Quote Link to comment

Bory
What exactly year and model did your transplant V8 doner come from Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
Thanks mcordero8, im chomping at the bit. Bory, its from a 91 LS400. The first 4/5 years of the UZ had stronger rods, so I can slap a turbo on it and get a reliable 450-500 out of it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jester
how much boost will the stock pistons take? That would be a LOT of fun. Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
10lbs is the normal people run. a good tune will get you sitting on 15lbs, anything more and your asking for a new engine. Quote Link to comment
Jester
10 would be amazing. Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
10lbs sits you a bit over 400 in this thing. seen people range from 380 to 450 depending on gas and tune at 10 lbs. thats all im going to run when i throw a turbo on until i swap in a build motor down the line. im actually not sure i would need any more in this truck, its going to get no traction as it is.... 1 Quote Link to comment

Cpl620
ok well, i meant to finish the firewall today with plugging the seams and grinding it down but i got caught up with other things that are just as critical. went out to get some parts to tie up lose ends, like bolts for the starter and junk. stoped by a neibors house who cut out my front tower plates, and he helped me mill up a block to relocate my oil filter. i still need to make a block for the engine side. other than that, i welded away on the exhaust for a few hours. we'll see how much i get done tomorrow. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
ohh, and i cant find any panel adhesive or auto seam filler. will RTV be alright to plug the seams on the trans tunnel with for waterproofing? Quote Link to comment
Bory
For all my seams, I used white dap, from home depo, once dry it's water proof and paintable. Oh and cheap!! Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
ahh, i dont want to drive to the depot. piss. thanks Bory Quote Link to comment
