Just got back the splash pan from my brother who has a media blasting cabinet and oven to powder coat parts at home and it came out really good! Can't wait to install it and look at powder coating more parts and look at zinc plating at home.

I can't wait to retire and go through the building and trying to organize, I found this I haven't seen it since I bought it years and years ago.

I was being lazy a while back and finally corrected an issue. I had previously replaced RTV as a gasket on my front carb with a gasket to get rid of a vacuum leak and 6 months later the rear carb/intake manifold developed a leak so pulled it off and cleaned off the RTV and installed a gasket and new studs and touched up the header of high heat paint and got the carb's sync'ed and got rid of the off idle throttle stumble. Sorry wish I could upload vids of the engine running but it drives better or normal now. Pulls hard or back to what its supposed to be.

Also been working on cleaning up some wheels I had in storage I bought a while back. Smoothing out or removing curb rash and knicks and polishing the lips. I have been having fun with it as I never really spent much time doing this and I am learning a lot and looking at tools more like angle grinders and polishing wheels and compound. I have been using files, dewalt drill with buffing/polishing pads and different sandpaper.  Had to take a break as I need to get more time to take out some more knicks and get some more polishing compound but so far so good. In the pics the Longchamps are 14x7+1 offset and the MK2's are 14x7 0 offset. Hoping to finish up soon and install some new valve stems and mount some tires and get them on the car. you can see in the pics the before and after or comparison between a wheel polished and one that is raw.

I took the 510 wagon out to the track (Pacific Raceways) and blasted it around.

Had a great time - the V6 ran great, sounded wonderful and I enjoyed a safe time going as fast as I could.

Here's a short video my daughter in-law took, including some in car video she took while riding in a 700hp Corvette at 162mph (the fastest car of the day)

Got 3 half moon keyways to get back on the L20 B soon. That way when I find the two missing ones I'll have a spare set.

Anytime you lose a part, they are always found right before or after the new replacement shows up.  It's just the natural order of things.

I hear ya there, if you can't find something buy another one and the lost one will show up all of a sudden.

Or, just start looking for something completely different. Then the original thing you were looking for shows up.

Before and After of these wheels I cleaned up. Was a project I gave to myself to try to do on the cheap/affordable to see the outcome.

Not perfect but came out pretty good. I had bought a pair of SSR MK2's back in march as I had a set but the rears were a positive offset. Wasn't bad but wanted a 0 to a slight negative offset that would fit inside the stock wheel wells. I had been slowly working on them when I had free time taking out some curb rash and dents and knicks and polishing them and sourcing and replacing hardware.

The wheels fit good! I think I could've pushed it went with 195's but feel I may rub if I load the rear with stuff or go hard on turns since I had lowered the back an extra inch compared to when I had the positive offset wheels.

Have some other wheels to clean up and to see outcome but these days I am all about wheels. They do so much for cars.

The extra inch lowered; does that make it 2 inches or 3?

Currently my wagon is at 2 inches sitting on 15 inch wheels but I also have a set of 14's I am keeping in reserve.

@KELMO I am using the T3 leaf spring kit so they say 2" low from stock ( not sure how accurate that is) and I am using their 2" blocks as I was using their one inch blocks prior. Before I did the spring swap I was using 2" blocks and that was the same height as using their springs with the 1" block. The measured length from the bottom of the lip of my 14" rims to the fender lip when using the 1" blocks was 19.5" so with the 2" blocks it is around 18.5"

I think the 14" wheels should work given the offset and using a 60 series tire but if the offset is on the positive side have to see how much to determine if a 195 or 185 tire is better or if using a competition tire that is a factor as those are a bit more square. Hope this helps.

I am using the same set up but no blocks.

The more I think about this, we may have had this conversation a couple pages back. I suffer from CRS.

The SSR MK3 is one of my favorite wheels. Bought a pair of SSR MK'3 a few months back and ran them for a bit but after seeing how the polishing came out on my set of MK2's I decided to polish the lip on these. I had a bit of trouble removing the hardware on one of the wheels as the corrosion was so bad that the head of a bolt broke off and had to spend time to punch out the bolt. Once I got them all out I used Emory paper and sanded the lips and get rid of any big knicks and filed down some curb rash. I used 1500 grit paper and wet sanded to smooth things out.  Used three different polishing wheels and compound ( kit on amazon works good but it's 4" wheels also bought a 6" wheel pack from Home depot and using them on a Dewalt Corded drill). From my eperience with the MK2's I knew how much time and energy was needed and each of these wheels took about 2 hours from removing the hardware, sanding and polishing, wet sanding and polishing. They came out pretty good but will work on them a bit more to try to get them more shiny. I didn't post a pic but I was able to salvage the original bolts and nuts using some muriatic acid ( be careful using this) to get rid of the corrosion. Working on cleaning them and painting the nuts to black for some contrast but you can see in pics I put new stainless hardware.

Specs on the wheels are

14x7 0 Offset

185-60-14 Westlake RP18 tires
