@iceman510 Yep I used a q tip and gently applied Vaseline to the raised areas. You can wipe off after or easily scrape off. I used a bit of alcohol on a rag to wipe off any residue. Hope you can do one for your race car. As to any spare covers let me know how much you are selling for and if I can afford, I'll let you know.

Lunch break project wrinkle finish painting this valve cover. Happy with the result and glad i had enough paint left in the can to finish off this cover. Used Vaseline to easy mask off portions of the raised lettering. Made a small wood block to attach sandpaper to clean up the lettering and will polish after another day of curing. If anyone has a spare cover for cheap or free please let me know as wanted to do another in the red paiint.

Had been wanting and searching for a Nardi Steering wheel and after a few missed auctions I was able to get this one. My friend was super helpful bidding and packing and shipping it to me. Had to order an adapter to mate it to the Momo hub. Glad the adapter was affordable and worked. Also glad I didn't toss out the horn button ring from RevLimiter as it has an extra set of holes and doesn't have a lip on it so the ring can sit flush and the horn button can mount without being raised. The Nardi wheel feels good. Bit thinner compared to the Momo Prototipo I had on prior. Good for people with smaller hands. 4f83ca662764469b80e4975d58ae2f0c.MOV

Switched things up to this Valve cover I wrinkle painted a while back. I like the old one so going to paint it.

I was painting the engine bay of my truck and while taking a break looked at the engine bay of the wagon and finally decided to paint the fan shroud. Masked off and sanded down to get rid of as much corrosion and smooth out and used Duplicolor semigloss along with clear coat then wet sand and wax and looks much better. Not perfect but not as crusty. When and if I take the radiator out I'll powder coat. Also after all these years removed the radiator hose part # sticker.

Finally replaced the shifter bushings after all these years. It was super easy to do. No more sloppyness and goes into gear smoother as prior had grinded a couple of times and also started to hear the shifter rattle. The old bushing was completely gone. Picked up this kit from ZcarDepot. Probably could've got away with just replacing bushings but get the kit as figured the pin/rod could be worn as well as the cup going into the transmission.

For the longest had wanted to make a cargo cover for the wagon. Had looked online for out of the box universal ones but no luck and pretty expensive for what might have worked. Didn't have time to check wrecking yards. Thinking of ways or ideas and came up with this. Didn't want to drill holes so found some 30lb pull strength coated magnets (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW5ZVMF6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) with a threaded hole and used closet rods and holders. Could've used PVC pipe too but had some wood rod so went that route. An 8 foot rod is the perfect length to cut for a wagon. After measuring and mocking up went to a local upholstery shop ( Wally's) and bought some naugahyde and used some hot glue and furniture staples to hold one side in place and pulled and stretched and glued and stapled the other end. Upholstery shop was cool and asked me to bring in and they helped me sew a seam for strength so I can take some staples out and also they bound the edge to keep from fraying. I painted the bases black for a cleaner look and tested it all and it works! Could be cleaner or can be refined but liking it and was fun to do. Was looking at making it retractable like my other car and also if you wanted to make with metal that can totally work. What I like is it can be removed if needed and it does cover my tool box and storage bin and my son can fit inside. Haven't seen what other wagon owners have done so please share what you have done or if others are looking for an idea here you go!
