I posted this truck in Pumpkin210 build thread a while ago as thoughts on his build..Albyneau asked if i had more information on it , and instead of mucking up Pumpkins thread here you go..I really love the look of this thing and was going to see if i could pull it off with Samurai running gear and a 521 that i have....BUT since i traded the sami off for some Datsun parts, i have no reason to keep it hidden any more.. Builders words not mine.... Ride Description: My 'Patrol' started life as a '74 Datsun 620 pickup. I shortened the frame by 14" and took 2 feet out of the bed. The cab and bed were welded together, and the rear of the cab cut out. It has a 3" body lift and rear air shocks. Currently the engine is the original L18 with a Weber carb. The drive line is stock....for now. I bought a Nissan 720 4X4 last year, it has the 2.4Z motor with a 5 speed stick. I plan on removing the 720's body and shortening the frame to fit under the Yellow 620's body. Doing this I will gain: power disc brakes, power steering, 4 wheel drive, a wider wheel base, AC, cruse control, power windows, overdrive, and more POWER. The truck is a blast to drive now, I can't wait till it's all finished. Started with this..... Looks more like later ZX trans Does it have wings on both sides of trans nearest output..Looks in picture to not be sticking out the side facing camera...Also speedo cog bolt looks to be on bottom ..Unless it`s an optical illusion I might be wrong.................................But im not

cut the lower spring mount off at bottom ( even with coil over you will have to do this )and use pipe clamp and adjust original spring up and down..and if you want more lower cut one coil out..That way if you want to put back up you adjust collar higher on strut.. (edit)....or lengthen pipe between collar and lower perch ...to make higher again

I spy a blue cars shiny little bottom peaking out as though needing to get her picture taken..And posted on here.. And welcome hope you keep us updated on the 510.

Got the boy to install his pedal unit and get the clutch master in and the tubing ran.. ...After getting up at the crack of 1:00 pm I took struts out of parts car for test sample ... ..I had a set of coil overs a guy with a Mitsu eclipse was getting rid of and since my son wants real low i thought i would see if they fit.........They didn`t ... Apparently the struts are just under 2 inches in diameter so i had to bore them out to fit 510 strut ..Once on there i had never really looked at size of spring either so they are REALLY short .. Anyways , , got some mr 2 struts out of one of the cars in the backyard and used the antique camber plates i got off Jeffery for cheep..And the oics show what i ended up with , for a test sample it came out somewhat ok , but spring would probably need changed. ' We are going to try to make this thing as low as it can be and still make it over the speed bumps at the high school, because this is his project car,, he has a 84 celica for a daily.. He made some great progress with the pedals Test sample coil over struts AND notice which way sons feet are pointing in oics .....WTF!!!..i thought he was taking forever ..Now i know why

wife took today off to do some paralegal " malarkey " on my " Ratsun " computer so my son got some free intake clean-up.. ...I did it this way because PCV hose will be all in the same spot and wont have to reroute. I am going to have him epoxy up exhaust re-circulation hole and sand smooth later ..but for now it`s done. Cut off tubes and sanded on disc sander.. Going to also find hex plug for the shiny plug on side ..........maybe

Did you get the sr stuff ?? or just the car

I think saw this at the Portland swap a few years ago ( was towed there ) and it really isn`t that far from done.. I believe it has newer style " A " engine..
