dhp123166
A 1/2 gram of coke while pulling parts off a 280z at a salvage yard in 2010. Quote Link to comment
drew510
When I stripped my 2dr down for paint I found a piece of sandpaper with Japanese writing on it inside the rear 1/4 panel. None of the cards had ever been removed - still had the plastic behind them. Quote Link to comment
Rjawm
Not a Datsun but, I found a zip gun in an 83 GMC van I acquired as my payment in a 4 way trade. .22 caliber, tucked in behind a loose rear interior side panel, still loaded of course. Sidenote, the van was turned into an A-team replica as it should be. 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
A 1/2 gram of coke while pulling parts off a 280z at a salvage yard in 2010. In the 80s wasn't a half gram of coke factory installed in 28OZs? Quote Link to comment
Rjawm
In the 80s wasn't a half gram of coke factory installed in 28OZs? No it was half a kilo and it was in DeLorean's. 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
Can't say I found anything weird, but I did find out through INDY510 a random 510 rolling chassis I bought was a Troy Ermish built race car. Quote Link to comment
Angela
I've found some scary stuff. My current 620 DD was purchased from a then-recently (and permanently) incarcerated person and had a baggie of very soggy, moldy cocaine behind the seats. Interesting in that the truck had been in evidence impound for several months. Since the original owner would never be back in society (aggravated double homicide tends to do that) I also got all his fairly rusty auto body tools as well as a CD folder filled with mostly 1980s Glam Rock CDs. A previous one, purchased from a freaking Police impound auction, had a mobile meth lab in the bed buried under piles of tools and clothes, and the cab was full of used hypodermic needles. At least they were all capped. The first truck I bought at an impound auction I found the keys under the floor mat right after buying it. While it was impounded DWLS (driving with license suspended, meaning it was running at the time of impound) it was marked "no keys". It was full of used and unused mustard packets, dozens of corndog sticks, dozens of (empty) beer cans under and behind the seat (no wonder the guy had no license), and 20 copies of the driver's resume in the underdash tray. He was a welder, apparently- clues were both by the resumes and the 2 dozen welding rods mixed in with the corndog sticks on the floor. Wow, just wow...that IS some scary stuff. Great stories on this topic. Keep 'em coming folks  Quote Link to comment
MarkB.
Three unused (thank God) condoms, a roach clip with a skunk tail, small adjustable wrench of dubious quality and about $4.00 in change, all under the back seat. Its unlikely than any of us spends any time in our 510 back seats; its pretty restricted back there. Gotta admire the condoms, they must have been either little people or very bendy. tr8er
That's why you get a wagon Actually, I had the passenger seat out for a bit. Made use of the back seat then. Good times. Quote Link to comment
Fat510
My warthog had part of a garden hose holding the timing chain up when I got it 1 Quote Link to comment
opalbeetle
When I built my KA24DE 510, I found a 2 1/2" deck screw in one of the cylinders of the junk yard donor. I only found it when we started it.....holy hell what a racket! My 710 had the wooden timing chain wedge still in it when I dismantled it (and yup I was driving it that way). It was a little bit carved up (almost artistic looking) and well preserved with oil. Quote Link to comment
Cheetahking
That's a good storage place for the wedge - and you will always have it when you travel and need to replace the head gasket on a trip! Quote Link to comment
Draker
Rally maps and check point clues from the Portland engineering club rally. 1970 I believe. My car was 1 year old. I guess I was wrong.. rally was in 69. It's faded, but this is what it reads: University Of Portland Engineers Club Presents Annual SPRING RALLY Friday April, 25 1969 at U of P Registration: 6:30-7:30PM Enterance Fee: $2.50 -YSR- Trophies & Prizes: Dash Plaque for all cars ALL S.O.P. (Seat Of Pants) (Watches, Pencil, and Flashlights) The text reads: CHECKPOINT SUPPLEMENT We welcome you to the first checkpoint. If you have hit any other checkpoints before this one, boy did you blow it. The course gets more interesting. Keep up the good work. Oh by the way, you are still looking for R.I. No. 21. Second note reads: CHECKPOINT SUPPLEMENT Hi there. Glad to see you are still with us. Now that last half wasn't so bad. Things could get worse. Keep your wits about you. This is your second of 6,000 checkpoints on the rally. It's not necessary to stop at all of them. Just the ones with the checkpoint signs. For those of you who are wondering you are looking for R.I. No. 38. Rally Registration: 2 Quote Link to comment
angliagt
I think that rallying should be part of a test before a couple gets married - IF you're still talking to each other (without yelling),you should pass. Quote Link to comment
