Here is the simplest parable about moving on but not forgetting. Through our life we have at least once stepped in a smelly pile of SHIT.. It stinks, it sticks to you, and is just down right unpleasant. So instead of freaking out about the event we clean off the foot, devise a plan of avoidance next time and move on, but we don't forget how unpleasant the experience was. So the next time we see a pile of shit we have our plan, and side step the Fecal obstacle. Then we don't have to relive the issue of stepping in SHIT. Thing is with lessons we should never forget, but we also should never dwell on it to shame ourselves after we made reformations. Seems now days we have so many people who want to go back to the pile of shit we stepped in and get it all over.
