DanielC Posted May 8, 2015 Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 Engine and transmission bolts are metric. Brake parts are also SAE standard. The fasteners ON the rear axle are metric. The fasteners holding the rear axle IN the truck are SAE. An 11 MM socket will fit on fender bolts, but the threads are 1/4-28. In most cases. a 7/16 socket will fit the head of the bolt better. Now, that is the way they were, when 521 trucks left the factory 45 years ago. There is a possibility somebody changed something since then. 2 Quote Link to comment

Hope it's a cheap block and not a Starrett I was questioning this......my coworker bought it for doing shit like this...... .......this is new to me......but I asked if the sandpaper would eat at the surface...... ...........he didn't seem to care...........and it's not mine.....
