The golden days of commercial air travel. No airmarshals. No jack booted thugs dragging passengers kicking and screaming from the cabin. No flight attendants punching young mothers in the face.

Just a sweet biscuit stewardess asking, "Coffee, tea, or me?"

Those were the days.

*sigh*

No Arabs blowing them up either.

If only they would have saved most of this stuff! At the very top of the pic is a Mistel Combo. A Junkers JU-88 loaded with explosives, basically converted into a bomb, with a Focke Wulf Fw 190 attached to the top that controlled both planes. The FW pilot flew the combo to the target and then released the Ju 88 to blow up stuff.

If that is the same one I am thinking of, the Fw survived and is on display in England but the Ju 88 was scrapped.

Air marshalls were on flights starting in 1962. And there were no "jack booted thugs" involved in the United incident.

Don't forget the "Brummy Bar" that's Grizzly Bear twin engine night fighter in the middle.  I have a model of that version.  Not seeing the radar antennae, that just might be the bacic trainer version.
