Instead, I just put green tape around the shaft, then beat the wheel on. Viola. The electric motor that runs the dryer now also spins the squirrel cage. And I almost killed the Maytag getting it apart because unlike most dryers, they actually made it easy to take apart, and it confused me. ;) Two little hidden screws on the bottom of the front panel, and it just rocks up from the bottom toward you to release the top clips, then poof, the front panel is off. Quite nice, really. Hope my bodge stays working for a while. It was either spend $40 on a squirrel cage in town, or $6 on the internet and wait a week. So I opted for 2" painters green tape I had in the garage. Because Datsun. Cheap. :D 1 Quote Link to comment
