Dguy210
Couldn't get photofuckit to download my large album. Ended up using this program to download them, runs in Java. Did sometimes require me to restart it and make sure the page opened first. https://github.com/4pr0n/ripme 1 Quote Link to comment
Lost_Player
Hi guys.. It's been a long time no see.. I saw the problem with photobucket and I may be able to create a extension for Chrome and Firefox to make the old pictures visible for the guys that still navigate to old posts. I'll get back to you guys when I have news ;) 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Let us know if you figure something out, a lot of photos are gone. 1 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
I finally read the info on PB. It just renewed this morning for $25. I thought they'd shut off my links at this time. There's a statement in their policy update that says because of my account and how long I've had it, I will continue to get 3rd party linking until Dec 2018. That was easily worth $25. I'll see if I can get them uploaded elsewhere and relinked before then. 2 Quote Link to comment
Lost_Player
Ok guys I've got some news about the extention that I'm making. I've manage to make it work. As of now I'm polishing it since it's full of junk that I used for testing and I still need to test it in firefox. In the next day or something I'll get back to you guys :) 1 Quote Link to comment
Lost_Player
Hi again guys. I've finished the chrome extension. Since I do not have a developer account I did not publish the extension to the chrome webstore. I've created a zip file and upload it to my google drive. If someone wants to use the extension here is the URL -> https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Byxa_5QRw6vRU19EalZ4Y0hFUFU To install it you'll need to to it manually, you can follow this the Method 1 in this tutorial -> https://blog.hunter.io/install-chrome-extension-manually/ Tomorrow I'll probably upload the extension for the Firefox browser until then if someone finds any pages where you can't see the images from Photobucket leave me a message of what page it's so I can fix take a look and fix any problem the extension may have. Until then have a good one ;) 4 Quote Link to comment
wayno
So your saying if I were to install that extension I could see every ones blocked PB photos, or every one can see my blocked photos? Someone that knows what they are doing needs to try this out, if it works I will need to bring some one in as the only thing I can manually do to my computer is screw it up. 1 Quote Link to comment

You'll be able to see every ones blocked PB photos. This means that every post will have all the images in the right place, no more 3rd party hosting bullshit. 2 Quote Link to comment

It sounds like this is something that needs to be down loaded to the forum so that everyone can see the photos if they log in. 2 Quote Link to comment

I ended up copying the folder and pasting it to the primary level of my download folder.....otherwise, when I tried to do the unpacking in chrome, I couldn't see the folder. Once I moved the folder, it unpacked it and gave me the icon. Thanks!! 2 Quote Link to comment

Draker
The problem with hosting photos on your own server is that the pictures are not compressed like they are with a third party host. This is good for high resolution photosharing, but bad for quick downloads and mobile devices. I guess it's a trade off.. When browsing on a phone you could be waiting minutes for a fucking picture to download.. not to mention 10. fml. 2 Quote Link to comment

Just have to resize them down to something smaller than what your phone or whatever takes them at. I use photoshop to make all of mine smaller w/high quality before uploading them to flickr. Charlie69
All my pictures are 640x480 because I try to be thoughtful of people using various internet methods to connect such as dial up modems. Yes these are still being used in rural America. Quote Link to comment
